Buying H22...couple quick questions

I'm about to buy an H22 to drop into the CL. It comes with the harnesses but that's it.

Our ECU will work right? or do I need to get a prelude ECU....

And will my CL a/c compressor and alternator still line up?

I know the transmission will bolt up so that's good, but if someone could help me out with the above stuff, that would be great. I just dont want to get everything taken apart and then be missing parts, you know?

You need the ECU. Everything else should bolt up. What year is your h22?

also, what if I get an aftermarket ECU....like a Spoon ECU

would that require more work i.e. injectors, fuel pump, etc?

youll need the ecu.. go obd1 p13. easiest to find and alot of reprogramming support. tho you will need the obd2 to obd1 adapter. you can also use the obd1 p72 but its not mapped for the h22 however if your going to chip it its a good choice too. and they too are easy to find. im pretty sure youll need to grind off part of the powersteering bracket to fit the h22a4 motor.

He's right about the powersteering bracket. I think it'd be less trouble to just use the one off the h22, assuming that it's a complete engine. That's what I (well my dad) did.

He has a 98 engine therefore OBD2.
This is a complicated issue. If your car comes with an immobiliser then you can use any OBD2 Prelude ECU. All you have to do is reprogram the ECU.
If your car comes with no immobiliser you will be forced to find a 96 Prelude (H22) ECU or go OBD1 in this case a P13. Like wilp said they are easy to find and reprogram.

I didnt need to grind anything. Engine fit in perfectly.

ECU - def need
Alternator - engine should come with alternator and power steering
Compressor fits right in
Tranny lines up fine. For best results you use a H22 transmission. Different gearing.

Yes. You could use the CL ECU but you won't be getting all the power out of the engine. Different fuel maps and all that..

the obd2 p13 is hard as hel to find.

and you dont have to go obd2 with an obd2 engine. obd1 ecu just will not use the secondary o2 sensor on obd2 engine.. the engine tho made in 98 isnt strictly an obd2 setup. i say get the h22a4 and go 96 p13 ecu (obd2) tho hard to find it will be more of a stock quality. unless your tryin to modd alot, then go p72-obd1 alot easier to find than obd1 p13. you can get it chipped with the h22 fuel maps and still have use of the secondarys. if you go p28 you need to cut out the secondarys because that ecu will not open them.
