Thumbs down Buy new plugs to save some gas, have one melt in the cylinder and take out a valve.

So i bought a set of Pulstar Platinum's (www.pulstar.com) a few weeks ago. Got em from ebay for a good price so i figured why not try em out. So a couple of em came loose in shipping so i had to re gap them. didn't have a proper gapping tool so i made due checking it against the ones that were fine. So i put em in and it runs fine for a day or so and then starts misfiring at idle when it's in drive. So i got the gapping tool and did them to the 1.07mm on saturday. still didn't help much so on sunday i put them down abit to .040'. Unfortunately i broke a plug wire in the process and ended up limping it home sunday on 5 cylinders. i was hoping i could bandaid it with one of the wires off my F22A. That didn't work and it started sounding worse so i dropped it off at my mechanics that night. Monday my mech tells me that one of the plugs melted and part of it broke off into the cylinder, sounds like it messed up a valve on the way out

i emailed the guys i bought them off of on ebay yesterday so we'll see what happens there. i'm out $75 from them and then $390 from my mechanic today for the NGK laser platnums and the blue NGK wires that are in it now. He said drive it and see what happens, might clear up, but if it blows up then tow it home and buy something else. doh.

so i'm EK HB hunting.

If you get rid of the CL, can I have the fogs?

Sorry, had to be the first to say it. Now that that's out of the way, I really hope it works itself out.

yeah it really didn't go very well. I think it was only a matter of time before something went. it's consuming about 1L of oil per 1000kms now too.

I dropped a screw in my carburetor (for all you younguns, that's what used to be on a car to supply gas and air to the engine before Fuel injection) amd I got lucky, it went through the valve just at the correct time and went out the exhaust. I was young (was 16) so I didn't know any better but now I would have not cranked the car and taken the intake off and used a magnet to get to the bolt. I hope you get lucky like I did

231,100kms, CX 5spd, no power steering a/c works, new front brakes, fuel and brake lines replaced already too. $1800cad certified and e-tested.

parking the acura tomorrow. no sense making the motor worse, parting out the car in the spring, too cold to do it now.

That's what I was thinking. I wish my DD was a 5-speed But mine has a ton less miles, and more colors on the body

Sorry to hear you are parting it out but since you have already decided you are going to I was wondering if yours is an automatic or manual. If its manual I need all the pedals and everything associated with it so I can do this 6 speed swap, the other guy I asked about it has never gotten back to me on a price of the ones he had left over so need to find some and yours would have all the switches the others would be missing. I am in no big hurry so just whenever it warms up if its a manual will be fine because right now my trans is doing ok (knock on wood) but would like to do this swap since no one else is willing to be the first to do it and maybe take allot of pictures for a DIY
