bulb problem

So i bought 1156 backup lights for my car and they don't fit they are too big and my stck bulbs are thinner but they fit in the actual socket but don't clear when i try to lock the socket back in. Did i get the wrong size because in the NOOB guide it says 1156.

i got a 3497 bulb in mine and it's perfect.but i did alittle research for you
and look
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1156-...02889370QQrdZ1

did you test if they work? only thing i can think when i changed from a 6 led to a 9 led,the 9
base was too big and i had to file down the socket where it didn't affect the locking groves.just order led's

# of led bulbs in one unit.

the more led's the bigger the base, which means more of a chance to not fit. i also think the best light output would be from an led that has the bulbs outward.it's not always about how many lights,it's where the light is pointed.fyi led's look better but actually have less output than our stock bulb.
