brief clunking noise

i have a 97 2.2CL 5speed with 103,500 miles and when im in 1st and really let on the gas the car makes a brief clunk and then goes away. it also does this when i shift into 2nd really quick and start accelerating quick. i honestly i have no idea what this could be. its not a grinding noise, but i honestly have no idea what it could be.

possible it is the throw-out bearing in your clutch. It could also be a suspension issue. Any other symptoms? Does the clunck translate through the steering? Does your clutch pedal seem mushy? you know, stuff like that.

It could be the motor mount or the person tied up in your trunk.

Better get him out soon, or he'll start to stink. Then you'll really have problems with your CL. But yeah, better get all that fixed
