Nope, fwd car, your rear brakes don't get used much unless you're really stopping hard or the abs is engaging

How long have you had the car? Have you recently done a brake job?

I dont know if it is a matter or bias, rather a caliper failure. If the caliper is not allowed to float on the rotor and has seized, the brakes will not engage.

All brakes should work all of the time regardless of use.

If it is one of the rear brakes it could be seized open. If it is both I would check the hose as best as possible from the master cylinder. Rubber hoses are subject to corrosion and swelling sometimes.

I would get that sorted out quick cause trying to stop these heavy beasts on two brakes is kind of scary IMO.

I will second that 100%...it appears that your calipers have sized and are stuck or whatever....check what ottawack said above....if the brake lines are all fine then change the calipers you can buy nice reman ones and they should do the job......

probably the caliper sliders are seized, they were on my car when i bought it, its an easy fix actually. Depending on where you live right now, its very doable by yourself. Or bring the car in a garage that has a torche, and they will be able to unseize the slider. But then you have to remove by sanding or using some rust remover liquide to remove all the rust, and lube the sliders very well, and maybe replace the rubber bushings, which are the reason the sliders got seized in the first place probably.

rear brakes dont get much play in a FWD car.
to make sure everything is in order, check your calipers for seizure or failure...quite common problem, i've replaced a rear one on both my Prelude and the CL.

was the same for me, the rear pads had never been changed when she got the car. wasnt long before it needed em and I had to go through all of that. needless to say but the brakes still were working.
