Came out for lunch today..
Car's broken into..window is fucked up.. radio is gone.. whole car is keyed..didnt miss 1 panel... sub's gone..amp's gone..

I cant claim this under insurance because I have about a 70/30 chance of being dropped or doubled by insurance.. or 30% chance of nothing happening..

I dont know what to do .. claim it or not.. this is like 8,000 worth of damage, EVERY panel inside is broken..

 

i would claim it ... thats just too fuked up . oh and did you get a police report taken cause that might help out with the ins fucks

i have a passenger and driver side both with 35% tint on them one is from the dealer scratching it barely when i took it in once so i had it replaced for free by them, the other is from my last incident where the glass has a little scratch but its good to use and will work

Yeh.. If I claim it, is the thing of if my insurance drops me.. im fucked with all others.. I might not be able to support claiming it if im dropped.. and yeh I filed a police report

 

Seems like four options here to me:

1) Claim it and get dropped
2) Claim it and double rates
3) Claim it and luck out (not likely according to your numbers
4) Suck it up

Lets weigh the choices? First off, 4 is out. You are absolutly not going to suck up 8k in dmg unless you can afford it. 3 Isn't really up to you, but is the best option so we'll let that one ride. Can't very well get dropped from ins, so 1 is out. That leaves claim it and take the rate hike. If you don't get hiked or kicked good for you that is awesome, but if not i would have to say take the hike (unless you are from jersey).

 

If they are smart, they'll total the car for that kinda damage. I say claim it. If they drop you, you still aren't out any money as long as they fix the car.

I dont see how they can drop you for something like robbery and vandalism. Thats somewhat unforseeable, unless you had shit all out in plain view.

Its not a car wreck. my car getting broken into had no bearing on my insurance that manner. same as when i hit a deer. unforseeable.

Don't ever feel bad about claiming anything from your insurance... thats the reason your paying for it. Let me try to explain my theories here :: John pays 350 a month for full coverage car insurance and has insured his car through the same company for 6 years $350 X 12 months = $4200 X 6 years = $25200
And so far all my claims have equaled up to a sum of about $6000 leaving my insurance company with approximately $19200 in profit accrued by just me as the insured. So in closing i say this once again "don't ever feel bad about claiming anything"

 

I have Allstate too. Your rates shouldn't increase at all when using your comprehensive coverage. Using the collision and liability coverage will affect your rates.

 

i think im gonna keep my car garaged il just drive my moms porche to school...and by porche i mean her maxima. not a good month, some people in this world are so messed up. No deserves to have their cars broken into and their shit stolen. where was your car when it happened? sorry to hear, lotsa bad stuff goin on latley.. my friend bought a 2001 golf gti and totaled it a month after having it. on sunday my same friend crashed his dads tahoe.
