Bose Schematics for 1997 3.0CL
Does anyone have access to the Helm Manual for the 3.0CLs? If so, could you please scan and post the schematics for the bose system. Otherwise, could someone tell me where I could locate all of the internal amps for this system so I can by-pass them? Thanks huge in advance.

I have the Acura shop manuals for the 97 2.2CL and the suplemental manual for the 97 3.0CL. Doesn't say helm anywhere on them, but they are the genuine Acura shop manuals.
Anyways, the amp you are looking for is behind the seat, on the passenger side I believe. If you need the pin outs for the connector I can look them up for you.

Thanks a lot! I think you are talking about the right manuals. I just keep hearing everyone on the board referring to it as the Helm Manual?
Anyway, I think I located the amp in the truck behind the backseat on the drivers side? How many amps does it show in the manual are in the car for the fronts and rears? Thanks in advance

If you post the pin-outs? that would be great. Otherwise, I don't know where you are located? But, I could probably hook up with you to take a look. I went to the Acura dealership to get the manual, and you wouldn't believe what they want for it. $170...

No problem... there is only one amp in the car, that powers the whole system. I've been thinking about adding a small subwoofer, pointing it through the trunk passthrough like the Prelude SRV had. Maybe even that unit would fit the CL? Anyways, I'm in Mississauga if you want to come take a look at the manuals. The dealer charged me about $70 each for them so I think youre dealer was trying to scam you.

I agree that bose sucks. It's over-rated. Anyway but for now it's okay since I dont have $$$ to upgrade. Atleast it's better than the Acura brand reciever that comes with the 2.2's

There is only one main amplifier for the Bose/Acura stereo in the 3.0 Premium CL. The Acura shop manual says to remove the rear seat, then you'll find a proprietary looking box which is the amp. Looking at the amp sitting on a table with the mounting surface down, there's a 26 pin connector with two rows. From top left to right the connections are B1 through B13, from bottom left to bottom right they are B14 to B26. Here are the assignments:
B1 brn/blk pass door/tweeter neg
B2 red/grn "" "" "" pos
B3 wht/yel constant power
B4 not used
B5 yel/wht Power (w/ Radio switched on)
B6 not used
B7 blk input right rear neg
B8 brn input right front neg
B9 grn input left rear neg
B10 orn input left front neg
B11 not used
B12 blu/yel left rear speaker pos
B13 gry/wht left rear speaker neg
B14 brn/wht right rear speaker neg
B15 red/yel "" "" "" pos
B16 blk ground
B17 lt grn ground (signal)
B18 not used

B20 blu input right rear pos
B21 yel input right front pos
B22 red input left rear pos
B23 wht input left front pos

Not true, I ripped out my labled "Bose" deck and it said made by "Panasonic". Just like IBM. All of the new notebook 390 computers they released "Thinkpads" were manufactured by "Acer" and IBM just threw their logo on them.

Yeah Bose speakers are overrated, overpriced, and suck. Ever looked at the speakers? They're made of cheap paper and have foam surrounds just like any other generic car speaker. I wish Honda went with JBL, Polk, or some other company. Could have saved us all some $. Also, there aren't too many replacement 6x9 speakers that will fit the rear because of those cross bars in the trunk.

Can't find the Bose amp.....WTF
Okay, last night I remove my rear seats and rear side panels......no amp.
So, I took out the front passenger seat b/c I saw a box under it.....I think it was the ABS controller......still no amp.
Did they move the amp to a different location for '98????
HELP!!!!

location of amp on 98clP
I had circuit city rip all the blose out of my car just the other day and the amp is located between the back 6x9s in the rear deck. It is inside the cabin not in the trunk. They pulled up all the carpet on the back deck and there it was right in between the two speakers. Sounds much better now!

Yes, the bose amp is right behind the panel where the jack is. Its tucked down in the corner bolted to a metal plate. Not in the rear deck, not under the seat (alarm module) and not behind the rear seat.
