Lightbulb Bodykits-Feedback

I emailed the guys at Ronjon Wheels about a bodykit for the 1st Gen crew. They have a nice one for the 2nd Gen and are willing to create one for the 1st Gen, here is their response.

Rondy Marji [info@ronjonwheels.com]
if you want, arrange a group buy for 25 kits, and we can produce them with deposits, but 2 generations behind is kinda risky to build them without demand.

Great, so 25 people on this forum will have the same body kit! That's what I call originality

I think its a good idea. Who cares if 25 people have the same kit. Most CL's have 18's, a pro-kit drop, and the Lip. We all look the same anyways. And this way, more than likely, you ll be the only CL in town with a kit.

id like to see what it would look like before i decide id like to buy it, it has to be tasteful, not ricey, and defently not somthing that would make our car look like trash.

kinda like that TL front end. IMO that is some hot steamy vomit.
CL looks awesome tho. and look at it this way, 25 people out of maybe a million CL owners will have this kit. that makes it pretty damn original in my book.

What's the estimated cost? I'll be in if it's really clean looking. And I want a rear lip, not like that 2nd gen one.

That kit is so freakin sweet but ill have to see how it looks on the 1st gen and how much its gonna cost....

If it looks good, the price is right and the guy takes credit card or paypal im 100% in!

Guys Guys, If I were to do one, I would design it specifically for the 1st Gen CL with input from the boards. this thread alone soundsm like interest alone. When I have free time, i will come up with a concept bodykit for the 1st Gen. Gimme a week, I'm real busy with whats out already. If it's an add on lip spoiler like the one for the 2nd gen CL, the prices would be the same, but if you guys really want to cut costs, I can do a front lip only and you can mix and match the sides and rear.

it would be nice if you can design one specifically for the 1st Gen CL for us. But i think CL Platano ideal is great too.

He just said that you doof.

Hey Rondog, I like the design of the 2nd gen, but I don't like the part that goes above the body. If you make one for the 1st gen, can you make it attach to just the lower parts of the car? I like the looks of the TSX kit...or even the Mugen TSX kit. Can you design something that looks similar?

Here's a Euro R lip...well it's more than the lip, buy you get the idea. I know the foglight portion is not going to happen, but I liked it for my photoshop.

By the way. Does anyone know how to change the color? Any way to get it to match?

Something like what you already have for the 2nd Gen CL with a option of a Veilside type rear or an add on and M3 Type side skirts. Just a thought.

Thanks

I think a front and rear lip would be a good idea, being that their are some people on this forum like me with a front and side's already, that could use a rear lip that had exact fitment with no molding/cutting to get it to fit.

In regards to a quote, if it was a lip kit, just use the 2nd gen CL lip kit for pricing here:
http://ronjonwheels.com/clkit.html

And don't forget that we had wheels especially made for the 1st Gen CL:

And Grilles:

I really like the design of the second gen lip kit. If you could do something similar for the 1st gen's that be awsome. We been longing for a nice clean lip kit for awhile, but the aftermarket won't support us at all. When do you expect to have the preliminary drawings up?

I was also wondering if the grilles came in all black mesh/trim?

Play with the "Levels" but you have to select only the portion you want the color changed, using the lasso tool.

I'd buy the kit if looks SWEET. Photoshop first to get an idea before production.

QUESTION:

If the kit looks sweet, how many of us in here would buy it ( wave )?
