Body kits: Asking for trouble?

Ok so I was interested in body kits after seeing the 2nd gen RonJon release. The only thing is whenever I see a car with a body kit in real life it is damaged or ugly because it's the wrong color (read primer gray ). Most of the cars with kits actually have body damage from a collision and the ones that don't usually have a cracked front bumper. I'm guessing that people who get body kits feel the need to drive like a bat out of hell because they spent so much money trying to looking fast and cool and thats why they are dented in the corner or side. And the front bumper damage I guess is from it being lower and hitting parking markers / speed bumps / curbs. This brings to light the fact that they are mostly fiberglass, which seems to be far less resilient that the factory plastic (polyurethane?). BUUT the poly kits are at least 2x more, usually well over a grand plus install. Frankly I don't think I've ever seen a clean kit except on a brand new car or something like an SUV that is high enough not to drag ass.

I am left with the conclusion that body kits are not for daily drivers because hitting anything = destruction, unless you get a real expensive poly kit which is like 2k. and even THEN you're a target for cops and for anyone with a faster car who wants to burn what they consider a "ricer". I am somewhat new in the scene and maybe I can only remember seeing the messed up kits from over the years, so let me know if I'm off here. I just wanted to flesh out my thoughts and see if I was missing something.

Accord body kits can fit if you have lots of money. Lots of customizing involved, so I voted cool if you're rich. However pretty much any accord body kit will ruin the lines of the CL. But if you're trying to look different and have lots of $$ you can pull it off.

those car u see with busted up kits are cheap fiberglass kits. WW front lip wouldn't mess up on u...u might get some paint chipping but thats about it.

False.

Aero kits aren't for novice drivers. If you're worried, learn how to drive.

whether or not to get a body kit is simple to figure out.

if you bought an ugly car get a body kit to make it look nice.

if you bought a good looking car get a lip to enhance it's stock look or just leave it alone.

it all depends on the overall looks of the body kit. for instance the body kits we have down here cannot even compare to the shit they have in japan.

honestly, that's great.

im saying you can do the job right if you know what you're doing. and as far as styling goes, people bag on full aero kits, but the fact is majority of the shitty ones out are bootlegged in the states.

that last green one with drag air scoop and the super agressive front looks like one of the ones on the VW commercial that get "unpimped"
