1. a before shoot of the headlights...i was trying to get that damn bumper off!!
2. This is after i took off the front bumper and headlight assemblies...lookin pretty nasty
3. Finished product, this was taken tonight, so you cant really see the black housings that well, but there is a definete change!!

looks good katie! I really like the red cl's. Not too many of them either. Thats a tough project for a women. My girl would never do something like that. It took me a few months to even attempt it.

Look at the picture of the finished product. The upper corner lens inside the headlight looks totally amber. The bulb in there is suposed to be clear, not amber, and if it was it wouldnt make the entire lens look amber.

thanks for the compliments! I'm extremely pleased with the results...it's funny though, last night we were getting ready to leave beth's house and my friend rachael said "before your car was like "hi..i'm a pretty CL" and now it's like "hey! I'M A CL! GET OUT OF MY WAY!"....it's amazing how the black housings make it look 100 times more agressive.
I'm not sure why the corner looks amber...we took that pic at night and the headlights were not on. Perhaps just the reflection from the other lights in the parking lot, but i can assure you, it's not amber at all...it must have been a reflection off another car or something
I just used a high temp spray paint for the housing...engine enamel actually, resists up to 500 degrees, low gloss black.
and yes chris that is me...who else would it be?

hey katie- make sure you sealed those things up good! I just redid mine for the 3rd time because water keeps getting in there. Good thing I cut the two bottom headlight supports off so i don't ever have to take my bumper off again.

Looks great!
I've been thinking of doing the same, but I'm not certain how they would look on a Cypress Green Pearl CL.
Definitely looks good on your Red CL!

trust me...all the bullshit i went through was worth it.

the reflectors around the bulbs?? yeah i left them in...
if those are the ones you're talking about. but w/o the chrome being they are reflecting the black, which makes them like a light gray color.

I like your housings. Good job. I was thinking of doing mine in red the same as the body color. What do you think?
Also over on gallery you mentioned my car being a deferent color than you's. I think they are the same. I used Mothers wax on mine and it seemed to really make the color deeper. I am sold on Mothers Products. There touchup spray is great and it smells like cinnamine (sp).

haha..whoops...i really neglected the thread
i DID NOT get them at autozone mervyn, DUH, pepboys...dat's where it's at.
fast- I didnt get them anywhere, i made them...i took out the chrome housing and spray painted it black....hence all the pics of me tearing my car apart
Bluesman- would the wax change the color that much??? it just looks darker than mine i guess...what does the color on the inside of the driver side door say? mine is Milano Red. and i think black housings look hot on ANY color!!!
