Best Battery and it's Effects?

My car recently passed the 100k mark, and I figured it might be a good idea to put a new batter in. Any suggestions?

I hear people mention Optima red top, and Optima yellow top. What is the difference between these two and which one is better?

Will putting in a new top of the line battery have any implications whatsoever on my car's performance?

if you have a stereo system the yellow is a deep cycle which basically will allow you to use your system when your cars off for alonger period of time without hurting your battery, its also just better...charges faster (i think) but if you dont have a system red is just fine..

Deep cycle would be the best if you live in a climate where the temp stays warmer in the winter months. The red top is a all around good battery. It will be able to run any system fine. Remember tho, if you have a big system or many accessories, your gonna need a new alternator that can handle the amount of added amperage. Personally, Id take the blue top.

You need a length of at least 4ga wire, a battery box, and some connectors. You can buy a kit for ~$50.

what size are the 3.0 batteries? i got a replacement when i was in the bahamas and that one is actually a smaller than the dead one. my lights dims a lil bit when the ac kicks in. i think it's b/c the replacement is too small.

The dimming lights when the car is on doesn't have anything to do with the battery. The battery doesn't affect anything when the car is on. The dimming is the higher startup current of the compressor, it happens in both my car and by buddy's Acccord when at idle. Same with the fans.

lnsyone, yes to relocate the battery. Are you serious about it? If so, I'll find some for ya.
