easily the best 6X9's ive ever heard, and def worth the money...they sound really nice if you hooked them up to like a 150X2 amp, but even without the amp they sound really nice.

I cant even hear my 6x9 with my subs anyways, it would be more important to get a quality set of comps up front

I though you ought to go and listen somwhere and see. Even though a sound wall isn't the ideal listening enviroment of music, you can tell that some are a bit "brighter" and some a bit "darker" I find I like speakers on the brighter side (for me infinity and alpine), and some of my friends prefer them a bit darker (pioneer again for me), atleast to my ears.

there is no one "best" speaker, it's about what you like and how much you're willing to pay for it. instead of listening to us mention what our favorites are, go out to a few stereo shops and try all of them out and compare. bring a cd that you normally listen to with you so you know what to look for soundwise. then you'll have a better idea of what YOU want

Dude... just go and listen to speakers at the store and figure out which one you think sounds the best. I personally dont like Bostons but they are a bad ass speaker... they just dont sound good to me. I run Infinitys and they sound hella good. You really are not going to gain anything with just swapping out the rear speakers... you will need an amp to get 6x9s to sound really good and by that time... you might as well just add subs and get a great sound. It might just be easier to do something like an infinity bass-link... I havent heard one in a CL but they have sounded great in other cars I have put them in. That already has a built in amp and everything. Not trying to dog the speaker thing but Im just saying...

depending on ur future setup spend the money on components up front there gunna produce most of the sound you'll be hearing ... 6x9s are just for rear fill and if u dont want a sub then look for ones that just pound bass who cares if there clear

oh and my boston accoustic Rm9s are a very good option they are 3 way there fore they also are crystal clear with a very good thump ( im also putting 100 watts to each )

He's right, if your not going to power the speakers your going to get, its going to sound the same, at least the bose speakers i have will. I would go with subs, you'll end up spending bout the same amount for a really good set of 6x9's and amp. I would get a jl 12w3 or 2 12 w0's and a jl 250/1 amp - its unbelievable quality and you can prolly get it all for about 500 or less. I have 2 12w0's and a 250/1 amp and as long as you get a decent box, you wont find a better quality bass for the price.

One more thing, sort of off topic - anyone want to buy a clarion 845mc, its a fuckin badass head unit, i only had it for a month before i got my cl, its got a warranty still and all original stuff. details here http://clarion.com/usa/product/index...oduct=DXZ845MC

retails for 600, can buy in select stores for 500, make an offer if you are interested

Cant believe I'm the only one to say this so far: (I can hear the boos already) but: Alpine.

The sound I get out of my 6x9's is amazing. No, I didn't get a cheap pair off Ebay, and I have them matched with polk 6's up front with and Alpine Amp in the back.

Personally, (it's a "bare boned system) I couldn't ask for more, and untill Alpine fails me I'm sticking with them.

Impressive.

mmm thanks for all the replies guys...i'll look at all of the ones mentioned and then pick one lol
i might get an amp to power it as well
i'd rather get just 6x9 speakers than subs cuz first i save trunk space...and second i think maintenance and stuff for speakers is a lot easier than subs...i always hear my friend's telling me how their amps blow..or subs blow...i even had 1 friend get in an accident and a stick went straight through the sub lol
so yeah...i think i'm w/ speakers

so of the ones listed...which ones would make good bass when powered by an amp?
and sorry for not using audio forum...i DO have a 1st gen...so all replies in this forum would apply to me =D

PS-2nd page ownage!! Lol on my own thread
