Beep Beep
I bought a used CL last month and its beautiful...thank you thank you. But there are a couple of ques? that I need help with
1. Only one of my remote key controllers make that beep beep sound (when u unlock the car and it goes beep beep and flashes those lights) is that expected?
2. I Have to click several times before the trunk will unlock and pop up.
3. I HATE the stock stereo, but I cannot afford to change everything in one go (head unit, amps, speakers), so I am asking those of you who've changed the stereo, what's the worst component that HAS to be changed, I was thinking maybe I could put in a better head unit and amp and keep the stock speakers before Stage II :-)
thanks and its great to be part of the club!!

Welcome to the site!
I'm assuming that you have two alarm remotes??? Check the battery in the other. You can reprogram the remotes so that they will "chirp" (plus lights will flash) or not "chirp" (only the lights will flash). If you need the instructions, I'll e-mail them to you.
When you push the trunk button, push and hold it down for a few seconds. They made it this was so that you don't inadvertently open the trunk by accident.
You can do what you mentioned for the stereo system. I decided to keep the OEM head unit, got a new amp and speakers, and put 2 12" subwoofers in a box. The whole thing cost me less than $500.
I hope these help!

In order to make the beep beep sound from remote, you have to: with the doors locked, press and hold the trunk release button and then press the door lock button and hold both for like a second. The procedure is in manual, but since your car is used you may not have 1. In order to open trunk you have to press and HOLD the trunk release button, if it isn't working that well, you might want to switch batts. Lastly, I just replaced my stock head unit and only that and it made a HUGE difference!!! The stock HU is a piece of CRAP!! I'm gonna replace speakers in the spring, but I'm having 2nd thoughts b/c just the HU made such a difference.
Anyway, hope this helps.

gee thanks you guys, that was quick. I am still waiting for the manual (the dealer said he will get it for me in a couple of days).
Can I have the directions to program the remote dustbuster4?
I have a 2.3 and it has silver acura emblems, I was wondering if I could change(polish it?) it golden??

I siwtched all of my emblems to 24kt gold. Take a look at the pics in my signature to see if you like them, before doing it. They're pretty easy to change.

If you want gold emblems you will have to buy some new ones. You can get them from the dealership or try AH Motors for OEM parts at a much cheaper price. As far as the radio goes, if you have the 4 cylinder CL, like me, i would change the headunit first. It made a huge difference.

1) Scroll through this page to find gold accessories: Gold Kits
2) There's a guy in Canada named Warner who works at a dealership and can get you parts (emblems) for much cheaper than through your dealer. Contact him at moose@dccnet.com

welcome to the forum man.
i had the stock stereo in there.. for about 2 weeks. it got promptly shit-canned after that. my set-up cost around 800 at the time. Alpine CDA-7875, Rockford 250a2, Punch XLC 12'' w/ box.
there should be info in the manual as to how to enable the beep. also check the battery as dustbuster4 said.

What color is your CL? Depending on the color, it might not look so hot with the gold package. I have a 4cyl CL as well, and I agree that if you get a chance, replace the h/u. If you didn't get the Bose speakers, when you get a chance, drop those paper-coned crappy stock speakers as well. You don't have to spend alot of money on speakers to hear a major difference, and like they said if you get a high powered h/u (like 50 or 60x4), you can live without an amp for a while and still be happy.

Thank you
thank you all, I solved some of the issues from my earlier posting. I got the owners manual so was able to program the remotes.
I replaced my HU with a pioneer p-deh7300 and it has made a SIGNIFICANT difference. But I can still "feel" the paper cones, I wanted to get the pioneer 4-way 6-9" but want to do the installation myself (a first for me). How do I do it? directions anyone?? or should I drop another $60-70 and have them installed (and that is for just for 2 speakers). I think its a waste of money when the speaker set itself is only $120
And how do you remove the old emblems? I have a red CL and I am sure the gold kit will look great on it.

The back deck should "pop" up (it's held down with plastic clips), and the 6 x 9's should unscrew easily. You can use the same (stock) wires for your new speakers.

Not with dajuice27's. We had to heat the with a hairdryer, then slide floss underneath to pry them loose. His "ACURA" emblem came off letter by letter (snapped). The glue used for his '98 was a bear to get off (combination of [careful] razor blade, clay bar, and waxing).
