So this past week wasnt a good week for the CL. So i wake up friday to go to my sons graduation and i stop at the gas station and while im pumpin gas i noticed the someone hit my door.. So i looked at it and saw red paint on it so i figured it was my roomate pulling in. So yea. no I have a dent on my drivers door. but hes paying for it.
Then yesterday I wake up and drive down to the Hess to fill it up. so i go in pay fill it up and when i try to start it. nothing happened. just the clicking sound. good thing i was right next to discount auto parts. so i go in and get the booster and nope, the battery was dead. so i pushed my car across the street in front of the store, so we test the battery and its almost dead so i buy a new battery, after i replace the battery($92) i try again and nothing..its not the battery, so next thing its the starter. so the girl at auto parts tells me that she can get me a discount and she knows someone that could replace it for me.. so the guy came, did some shit to the starter with a wire and connected it to the started and he said it was the starter so bought a new one and the guy put it on for me right there in front of the shop. Glad i live in a town where its 80% pr racers. this dude replaced it in like 40 minutes...he was taking screws out like hes done it a million times...dude was sick.
So i guess it wasnt really a bad week for the CL since it has a new starter new battery and i might be getting dents taken off...

 

I guess it is a 2.3...man 40 minutes is dame fast.....it took me close to 1.5hrs trying to wiggle my fingures into the tiny space and loosening the 2 bolts...one was easy but the other one was tough as hell...well mine is an auto don't know if that is any different from a Mannual......and when I was done hooking up the starter I over tighten the wire connecting bolt and broke off the terminal so had to do it all over again......man that sucked....

But am glad that yours worked out man...

 

you fill at hess? bad choice man. they are known to put water into their gas.

I dont know if i'd call that bad. Shit happens, thats life. a starter and a battery on a 10 year old car is nothing. could have been a blown rad or a seized tranny/engine...*knock on wood*

 

So where do you guys think its the best place to pump right now.???

 

Yea youre right, even thought the tranny was rebuilt.. but it is kind of lucky that i broke down right next to a discount auto parts.

 

and oh yea..radiator was replaced too... it was cracked and leaking....

 

Hess is the only gas I can put in my car. Wawa, Sheetz, Sunoco etc give me poorer fuel mileage and the car just doesnt run as well.

 

Sheetz gas? Sounds like they add something else besides water into their gas.

 

sheetz gas is average, that's the closest gas station to my house

 

they steal alot of cars in Kissimmee, be careful ale

 

I use either BP or Circle K. Usually always BP.
