Check between the seat bottoms and the seat backs. There are one or 2 bolts there. When you try to remove the seat bottoms, sit on the seat and reach down between your feet. Right where the seat bottom touches the carpet, you should find a metal tab. Gently lift up on the seat bottom, and you'll feel a metal tab. Grasp the tab with a pair of needle-nose pliers, and pull up and towards the front of the car. There's a tab on each side of the seat bottom (driver's side and passenger's side). Push the seatbelts through the holes in the seat bottoms, and the the seat bottom should come out.

If there are more bolts to remove the seat back, you should now have a better view of them.

Mine is the same, there is a big metal cage behind the rear seat that you can take out.

He probably cut it out?

Oh, and yes, you will need to look between the back and bottom of the rear seat to remove the one 10mm bolt holding the bottom of the rear seat at the back. Then there are two metal tabs where the bottom portion of the rear seat meets the carpet:

T = Tabs in the front
R = bolt at the Rear

----T--------------R-----T----

Lift the seat up a bit to reveal them, grab it with needle nose, and pull the tab out a bit while pulling the front of that seat up. It releases the clip holding it to the floor.

You will need to carefully fish the seat belts through the openings to get the seat the rest of the way out (it sucks).

THen you will see the remaining 3 bolts holding the upper portion of the back seat in. Remove those, and lift the entire upper portion up towards the rear glass. There are 3 hooks at the top of the upper portion that slide down into the rear deck to keep it in at the top. By lifting you are sliding them out of the holes.3

H = Hooks on the top
b = bolts at the bottom

----H-----------H------------H----
-------------------------------------
-------------------------------------
-------------------------------------
-------------------------------------
-------------------------------------
--b---------b-------------------b--

this is true, you do need to do it w/ the new gen accords and it might make it a little easier on ours but it's not necessary.

as far as weight reduction, I'd say maybe 30 lbs. That rear plate is pretty heavy. I took it out because I was planning on making a straight through deck and carpeting it to match so I could mount my nitrous bottles in the back seat. After I got everything cut out and ready to mount I changed my mind before I started carpeting

well, it may not be necessary, but like ghander said, it made it a whole lot easier...getting to the tops of the struts was extremely hard to do w/o taking the seats out.

A hell of a lot easier. You would speed 6x the time loosening and tightening the bolts buy not taking out the seats.

I dont even use a spring compressor to install new springs. i just put a floor jack under the suspension and take out the center nut. lower the jack and unbolt the upper arm control. put some weight on the suspension and pull the spring out.
