Audio Installation costs...?

I was wondering what was the most anyone has spent on getting a system installed? I got a really good deal on new speakers, 2 subs, 2 amps, amp installation kit and a new head unit and then they gave me the price for installation and I was a little surprised. They are doing some custom work with the amps with plexi and stuff. So I am debating whether or not to go with it, I know they do really good work and it's hard to find someone you know who won't rip you off and do a shitty job - that has happened to me before. So what is the most you guys paid for installation?

Casper paid like $10,000 on his stereo stuff, so I guess that would be the most anyone with a 1 gen cl has ever paid for a stereo job.

I did everything myself so I can't tell you exactly but I would expect to pay around $200-$250 to install a head unit, 4 speakers, and two amps (one 4 channel and one 2 channel) and custom work is always more.

I got my stuff installed at Best Buy...$300 for the amp (4-channel amp)...4 10" subs...capacitor...head unit...all the harnesses and kits needed..they estimated it at $360..so my parents gave me $60 which I used to buy some dynamat...cuz 4 10" subs hit a little hard

Not including the price of my equipment my install was $500.00. That is no plexi glass or anythng fancy. Running 4 gauge from the battery to the trunk. All Pheonix Gold power, speaker, patch cables, fuse blocks. The 4 guage power in the trunk goes to a six power block spliter in the trunk. So I never have to worry about running power to any other amps I add. Runnig all new gold speaker wires to my seperates. You don't want to use the factory wires. Some places will try to get by with running your speakers off factory wires.
How much did they quote you? Are your subs in a box or they building a custom inclosure?

They said under $400 which to me means somewhere around $350 which I guess is a good price it was just more than I was expecting. The subs are in an enclosure but they might build me a custom box type deal down the road sometime.

That is not bad for an install with your amps having some plexi in an enclosure or rack. Just make sure they are using some good cables and wiring. If you have the money have them dynomat the trunk while they have it apart, if that is where your amps are. The trunk and rear of my car rattle like crazy. I need to have it done bad. Looking at an other $200.00 give or take for someone to do a whole trunk. Good luck
