Hey everyone, well, in about a month im throwin down some bills on a in dash pop out 7" motorised LCD with PS2....heres my prob. .

i want to hook up the PS2 to the tv for dvds but also keep then stock headunit for the cd player. I want to use the TV for the am/fm radio (yes it comes compatible for am/fm) so this is that im looking at

TV = am/fm radio and dvd w/ ps2
Stock Headunit - for CD player only

Can this be done!?! someone told me im gonna need to buy like 3 recivers or somethin!?! also, how much would a TV tuner cost for the LCD so i could watch the local news and TV while im driving??

 

I think you should only need a fm modulator ($50) and a module that connects to your speaker wire and transfers the signal to rca cables. That should be pretty much it. I dont know how much the tuner costs.

 

Are you seriously going to watch TV while you are driving? What about a DirectTV unit in the trunk? Not sure where to put the dish yet...

I'm only kidding. I also want an in dash TV unit for navigation, DVD's, PS2 etc. I just never heard anyone wanting it for TV also.

alrite. . . here your problem. . .

stock deck. . . a stock deck don't have RCA outputs in the back so if you wan't to build a system. . . a stock deck can't do it. . . it can be done, but you would only be recieving a anolog freq. so therefore it would sound like crap. ditch the stock deck

i don't know what kind of in dash your taling about. there are two kinds

version one- a plain screen. think of it like your comp monitor. if nothing is hooked up, it will nothing will display. has no sound outputs or anything. for this i would not get a in dash but i would get just the screen with a fan mount. and by the way. you will need an an after market deck, some type of input like a ps2 (i would hook up the ps2 because it plays dvds therefore you won't have to buy a dvd player.)

version two- a ture in dash. the in dash usually come with a dvd player and a screen all in one. it also will get radio stations and play cd (so you won't need three recievers) the better one are also touch screen.

i have 5.6 lcd's in the visors w/ ps2 i run the sound through the aux input on the back of the deck and just use one rec.
