ATF Flush

I have decided to do the Seafoam tranny treatment and then go get it flushed. I have 12 quarts of Acura ATF Z1. The valvoline down the street said they wont put my fluid in their machine, because they use a Mobil 1 ATF (or something like that) and said that it is compatible with all Hondas Hundayi and some Toyotas. Is this true? Or do you know of a specific ATF that is compatible with all Honda trannies?

Sorry for the millionth tranny thread, but my shit is broke and needs to be fixed.

IMO i wouldnt flush the tranny. Almost never fails it will cause the tranny to start acting up. Same thing with flushing the engine. I would just change the fluid and would only use the honda ATF.

Valvolines don't use mobil products, and to not flushing, my best friend (mechanic) tells me to never flush my tranny, he has drained and refilled my tranny fluid though, that's the way to go

I didn't want to start another Flush vs. Drain and Fill thread. But since it looks that way... What about the torque converter? with out a flush how is all of that shit going to get out of the converter?

If you are worried about the torque converter just drain the fluid, fill it back up, drive for a few miles then drain and fill again. It is time consuming and expensive but if you want all fresh new fluid in the tranny taht would be the safest way to go.

You could also perform a drain then refill.
Disconnect the tranny cooler line and direct it to a empty pan/bucket. Turn on your engine and fill the tranny at the same rate the fluid is leaving. Do this until the fluid changes to the color of the new fluid. Then turn off the engine and reconnect the tranny cooler line. This should use 7-8 qts.

It's easier with a 2nd person handy.
