Anyone with a Tint; please read; need help ASAP!
I really need this info soon cuz right now its 9:45 PM on Friday night; and I am getting it done tomorrow; Saturday @ 3:30PM
I was gonna get my car tinted this afternoon; and on my way to the place i looked at the glass; and rememberd that the rear window has got that stuff on it. Iknow you guys know what i'm talkigna bout; the bubble stuff. The guy at the tint shop said that was etched into the glass and cannot be pulled off. They also said that the tint wouldn't be effected by it. But the guy has never seen glass like that before. So I'm not sure if he knows what he's talking about. Is there anything I should know? But i need the info tonight cuz i wont be able to get on tomorrow. Please someone respond if they had to do anything special; if it loooks bad (meaning does the bubbles stand out more since theres kinda a black back ground now) and if there is any problem with the stuff sticking?
help URGENTLY needed.
PS; i'm getting 20% tint all around? Do you guys think thats dark enough?

PS i have 22% on the back windows, and 5% in the front and it looks sweet.. and 20% is dark enough if thats what you want

I have my windows tinted and have had no problems w/ the defroster. As for the "bubbles", they will probably be a little messed up (barely). You can correct that by getting them to put a piece of black vinyl over that, it looks like its stock. As for the 20% tint that should definately be dark enough, if not too dark (depending on the popo in your area.) Good luck

I had them put black vinyl over the dots and it looks great. The defroster should still work and you probably wont have any problems with 20 in orlando. I currently have 20 in the back and 35 up front but wish i went darker. I will probably have the fronts redone to 20 to match the backs.
hey pimpin, am i reading your post correctly because to me it looks like you have darker in the front than the back which is just weird

5% all the way!!!!!
Looks soooo much better.
And yeah, the bubbles in our back window cause the tint to not stick as well, but just tell them to try their best.

Just skip the bubbling part and get as close to it as possible with the tint. It turns out real nice and you can't tell the difference.
No it doesn't melt due to your defroster.
And yes, 20% is plenty dark if not too dark.

I got them to go ahead and tint over the top and it looks fine...(depends on the skill level and how much you trust your tinter too, imho)
Personally, I can see a little difference...it's hard to get it to stick around that area, but nobody -- even people i point it out to -- can tell...
I've never had any prob with my defroster strips either...I think the quality of the tint might play a role here
I considered the vinyl outside at that spot, but I realized i was just being too anal about it, and even my shop said they wouldn't do it if it was their car...

That's cool...mine's already been tinted over the top part, so I could either slice out the top portion...pain and probably not worth risking the rest of it, or vinyl strip the outside, which i'm not gonna worry about...
You can't tell unless you're a foot off of it anyway
