eesh so if I get a heavier after market rim... then the torque is going to decrease? if my split 5 spoke 99 OEM 2.3 rims weigh lets say 20-21 pounds and my after markets weigh 27.5... then we have a problem huh? I'll post a new thread so I don't jack this one.

How about those 5 double spoked ones? anyone know the weights?

if you get heavier aftermarket ones, you dont physically lose torque or anything... just more power goes into turning heavier wheels so you get less acceleration.

Like if you shove 4 friends into yoru car your car doesnt make less power, it just takes more to move the car and hence is slower.

that is what I ment torque at the wheels. but depending on the construction of it, they could not affect the torque.... if the weight was distrubuted a certain way... I suppose they thought of that kind of thing already since they are wheel makers.
