Anyone had to replace factory cd player?

Has anyone had to get their facorty cd player replaced by acura? mine has started skipping like crazy all of sudden and thankfully i still have a warranty. but i was curious if this was a widespread problem or not.

YES...Unfortunatley it appears to be widespread. I had my Bose replaced at 40K miles, and again at 65K, just went ahead in put in a brand new Alpine this weekend. Just go aftermarket...its the best way!

mine is not the bose, its the pioneer systems in all hondas/acuras
and i dont want to go aftermarket for two reasons
1) loss of the steering wheel without having to pay for an adapter
2) i have no intention of going after market speakers

i have put money towards sound systems in 2 different and both were totaled, its just not worth it to me anymore, so if i can get it replaced for free under warranty then im doing it. but thank you for your suggestions. i just wanted to know how often it occured cause i when i sold hondas i dont remember seeing too many busted cd players, maybe one.

Yes, but because of a faulty eject--the cd's kept getting stuck in the player. Dumb ass dealer also forgot to give me the new code# too.

About a week later, I had to change out a dead battery and whoops the fawking stereo wouldn't work. Dealer then tells me that the code was scribbled in silver ink under the fuse box.

Thanks asshole.

I thought the factory was alpine for some reason. Anyway my factory CD player has come up P-E-O twice and since there are so many miles on it they wouldnt replace it under warranty the second time so i went aftermarket Much better

Cleaning disk, canned air, you name it! Nothing could save the infamous PEO error. It is a defect that needs complete repair.
