any 2.xers install a throttle body spacer?

i jus installed an obx one and i dont get that bov sound like the 3.0ers say they have. all i get is a nice whistle that kinda sounds like a spooling turbo.

not sure if its cuz i have a 2.x or cuz i installed it wrong some how.

Also since i have an f23 i ordered the 98-02 accord tb spacer since its the same engine if any other 2.3's were interested. the 2.2's should get the 94-97 one. im not even sure if the tb's are any different but whatever.

Are all your seals and gaskets in tight? You might have air leakage, also check your vaccuum hoses.

theres soemthing on ebay with a speaker and connected to ur speedometer...it sense when ur car is accelerating and make a spooling sound....when ur car shift it put out a BOV sound. that would be a picture setup for you. not sure how much hp its gonna give you.

im fine without it jus wondering if something was wrong

and as for gains the throttle response seems a little better and the rpms climb a little faster but i mean all i got is an intake to go with it so nothing significant.

installation wasnt hard and gains are minimal so i dont think it was worth my 50 but it was one of those things that i wanted to try out after wakeboardfusion's thread about it. i had no idea what to expect from it.

I put a helix TB spacer in my 2.2 on tuesday and I love it. It makes a cool spooling noise during moderate throttle above 2500 rpms, but not a very noticable BOV noise if any. Like you said, theres minimal gains but it seemed to smooth out my power band a little.

That turbo noise makes me soo happy However, removing those two studs from the TB didnt make me happy

The studs were just a pain in the ass because I was using a big ass vice grip wrench in a pretty tight space, so i had to clamp-short turn-unclamp repeat atleast 50 times.... i dont think itll be bad on your 3.0, but takin of the IM might suck

are you guys kidding? just do the double nut method (i forget the technical term). put 2 nuts on the stud one in reverse and one normal, tighten them together, then just use the bottom nut to wrench off the stud...

Im not sure if that would work, its not threaded for the entire length (about 2cm of smooth metal between throttle body and where threads start) but thanks

Haha... you said double nut

actually, with the combo of a lightened flywheel header intake and no cat i noticed a difference in throttle response.... plus that cool whistle.

btw i thought the lock nut trick was one of those common mechanic tricks lol....learned it from my dad. lol

Have a friend w/ a 6th gen v6 accord with the spacers;

From my understanding gains are minimal @ best, 1-2hp and 1mpg after installing the spacer (Helix or whatever); also there isn't a BOV sound @ all, just the winding air sound. <--- synonomous to a turbo spooling up.

I'm told that helix is better than obx, I'm sure there's not much difference, OBX is just generic. My helix goes in next week
