Got some cool lookin guages off ebay from auto technic...

Everything seems to be going good and next thing you know my girl friend comes in the house jumps over the couch and lands on my cluster!!!!...Broke my gas guage and tach so I have use numbers for my gas...

Let me know if you find two gas gauges, I need one too

Oh, and be careful not to bust more needles with those POS gauges.

So, the first thing your girlfriend does when she comes home is jump over the couch?

You can just replace the particular gauges, I'd think. That's why I'm trying to get a hold of just the fuel gauge. I'll take a whole new cluster just to extract the fuel gauge, but I want to avoid strictly replacing the cluster because then the odometer is wrong and it messes up your title.

No you cant. If the needle breaks clean off then youre fucked. As for the title bullshit, just find a cluster off of like ebay or something that has a little more miles on it than your car and no one has to know.

Wonderful. Too bad my car has low miles and all the Accord/CL cluster are 100,000 miles plus. There's got to be a way to just take out the particular gauges, there are screws on the back of them.

Well if you can manage to get on to that little hole and somehow push out the needle and mak sure its all the way out then you are golden, but that would probably involve alot of time and effort.

I'm not sure what you mean? The needle attaches with a very thin silver piece of metal that goes into a little rubber fitting. Mine broke somewhere inside there. I'm talking about unscrewing the gauge from the back of the cluster and installing a new one. There's got to be a way to get that gauge out.

So yoou are wnting to take just the gas gauge out, not the whole cluster? That shouldnt be too bad if you are good at wiring.

The whole cluster is pretty much apart anyway (it's laying in the dash right now, not even bolted in) so yeah, it that's what I'm going for.

According to the stealership, it's $65.11 for a new fuel gauge. Unless I find a cluster within a day or so, I'm getting one from them.

You CAN remove the individual gauges from the cluster. When i got my car i tried to install some ricer gauges too and i ended up breaking the temp gauge. Maybe it was a sign.....but anyways, i managed to get my hands on a accord cluster and just swapped out the temp gauge into my cluster. Its not hard to do.
