It's summer time again, and the air duct get some bad smell after the car has been sitting in the sun for quite sometime. What do you guys do to prevent this smell?

Is that the smell when you turn on your AC, and it smells musty? My car, and my Mom's car smells like that with the AC on. Do we have an in cabin air filter?

Cabin filter...haha ask Black about those - i dont think they are a serviceable item. We have some, but goodluck getting to it.

just spray some lysol into the intake vents while its running the AC and its in recirc.

They're not serviceable without taking out a large chunk of your dash / A/C system, not a serviceable item that can be done easily. There is one, but it's a REAL pain to get to

Kinda funny I've been wondering about the exact same thing. I'm gonna take the Lysol approach.

Apparently 1/2 of the '97s don't have a filter and the "newer" 1/2 of the '97s do. My car, an older one, has a hole where a filter SHOULD go but doesn't fit. Just wipe out the hole and you'll be alright. I cleaned mine today

It won't really help you, the smell is in the a/c system and tubes not the filter

goto ur local parts store like kragen or autozone and u can get this spray similar to lysol only it in like a wd 40 type can so it goes all the way into the ducts make sure to get it into every differnt duct theres one under each seat btw and then for extra remove ur glove compartment and turn on and off the internal air switch till u see a flap open once located turn on the interior circulation which cause the flap to open and spray hella in there. With that done run ur ac for a good 5-10 min i did that last summer and havent had a problem since make sure u run ur ac for like 5-10 min every month so it doesnt happen again and also keep the parts lubricated and functioning. good luck o and make sure to get the vents under the hood
srry for no grammer and punctuation have to go somewhere.

I know that you may think there are 45 words in a sentance, but....no.^^^^ Am I the only person here who doesn't even bother to read someones post when they don't even attempt to practice punctuation? Try talking out loud and never pausing while reading that^.

An English professor wrote the words: "A woman without her man is nothing"

On the chalkboard and asked his students to punctuate it correctly.

All of the MALES in the class wrote: "A woman, without her man, is nothing."

While All the FEMALES in the class wrote: "A woman: without her, man is nothing."
