ahhh crossroads!
So I met this kid the other day, made a compliment on my car etc. fell in love with it, it was cool. the cooler part comes when he offered me 5500$ for it. i paid 3400$ for it, and ive probably spent 1k in mods, so id be making a 1,100 profit. as much as i love this car, it gets me some serious negative attention in my area. (godamn po po tryin catch me riding dirty)
So the question is, should i take the 5500, spend 3900 on this beautiful wagon right in the area and make bank?
Its a 9-5 turbo wagon. b235e engine(280 Nm @ 1800 rpm, 170 hp@ 5500 rpm), 5 speed. leather, heated seats, premium 9 speaker sound with 200w amp. the only thing id suffer really is gas mileage (i get about 32 mpg now, and id be pulling 26 in this..)

I've had a few offers on my car. Yes, they are tempting, but I always come back to a Hell No. Just think, people want your car, but only you can have it
I cringe thinking about seeing my car being driven around town by someone else. I made it the way it is, it's just not right for it to belong to someone else.
And I would never buy a Saab..

i love wagons, done right of course. i mean, i bought my CL because its unique.. how many wagons do you see dropped on rims that could shit on most cars? the only reason id buy this saab is because its wasnt molested by GM. it has a saab engineered powertrain, and some serious potential.
Edit: not to mention, im a film student.. and its hard as fuck to move anything in a coupe.

sell it! I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to make a grand, your car's only going to go down in value, I never keep a car long, I always sell it for a profit about a year or less of buying it

Shnee what is it about saabs that you dont approve of?
another thing i just though about.. id be picking up a car thats one year newer then my cl, but has almost double the amount of miles...
its so much more practical in my head to own a wagon

i would love to, but not really in my price range. finding a wrx wagon for 5000 it would either have to not have an engine, or have 200+k miles
I found a v70r awd 5 speed for 2,000 $ but it had 205k miles on it.. otherwise it would already be mine.

I do like wagons and have looked into replacing the CL with one in the past, but I've never even considered Saab. It's your decision, but that's my input.
Why not keep your eye out for a nice accord wagon and spend some money on fixing it up nice?

Well my issues are
-Not enough space to move multiple light kits, large shit in general
-black, loud, young kid owned coupe attracts much attention.
Pros to saab wagon
-Larger, much space for stuff and things
-definitley unique
-decent gas mileage for a car its size
-max tq hits at 1800 rpm, before the turbo even spools
-good looking wagon
Cons
-larger, weighs in at 3500 lbs
-suffer some gas mileage
-10x,xxx miles
Pros of my cl
-Unique
-the way i like it
-large enough to seat 4 comfortably
-amazing gas mileage
-55,xxx miles
Cons
-2.slow.
-clutch may be starting to go, only slips sometimes. dont ask
-no space for much of anything.
-insurance is slightly higher because its a coupe, but then again that will be about the same since the saab is a turbo

Don't forget that being a turbo, that may be an area of concern. Used cars with turbos can be a huge headache.

You say expensive repairs, its expensive if you take it to a shop. I came from owning both an Audi and a BMW. same boat. its all about how well the car was cared for. and if regular maintnence was kept up.

One plus side is you can get out before you get too heavily invested in the CL if that's your decision.
After what I've done to my car (as far as getting it prepped for another +5 years of service) I would be foolish to let it go unless someone offered me an obscene amount of money(compared to the value of the car)

I don't know man, those Saabs seem to be more faulty than should be expected, certainly more so your CL. I knew a guy with a 9-5 and it was hellish. I know that's just one guy, so I wasn't going to say anything; but like I said, I looked at wagons for a while, and some online reading quickly steered me away from Saab.
Anyway, if you go that route, just don't say I didn't warn you

haha yeah, i hear that. ive read some bad reviews, but ive read bad reviews about every car yanno? each cars individual. i had a 96 maxima that mechanically ran like a champ, but every other thing on the godamn car went wrong or broke.
sadly the market for wagons is kind of a slim one. At least the ones that appeal to me.
Saab 9-5
Subaru impreza, outback sport, wrx(the latter being too expensive)
BMW Touring w/xtrac (out of my price range, although id do some nasty things for an e39 540xit/6speed)
Volvo V70r
Ill never own another audi/vw. that was a fucking nightmare.

i like acura
sell your car, buy a 89-91 civic wagon for 1000 bucks, turbo, slam, rims, done.(all cheap parts on craigslist)
and youll probably end up with a few extra thousand to mess with

hmm....
have u thought about the "pimp" factor of the saab?... looking at the saab... i can tell you that there is none. the Saab being 170hp and turbo... doesnt actually mean it would be faster than the CL. the Saab is heavier and may not be as stable as the CL at higher speeds which also means that the CL can out handle the saab.
my vote is to keep the CL unless ur getting a TL, 350z, g35 or something better looking.
good luck with ur decision but that stuff is just my

that saab has sleeper written all over it... Usually factory turbo cars are easier and cheaper to make faster. I can't believe it's got a 5-speed, that's gotta be rare

first you gotta be sure that this kid can come up with $5500, on the spot, for your car. second, its your decision, but i dont really like the saab. people will ask you if its your mom's car. a honda accord wagon can look dope with a drop and rims. plus, plenty of room for your film stuff.

As for pimp factor.. My girlfriend likes it, plus with fold flat rear seats but anyways;
Its not how you stand by your car, its how you drive your car.

as long as im a college student, i will not own another audi. my last one leaked coolant faster then i could put gas in it. not to mention when i turned on my high beams my windshield wipers turned on. along with a shlieu of other problems.
godamn, there waons are so sexy, but its just not worth it.
I do like volvo wagons, the v70r is sick, i found one thats awd and 5 speed, but it had 205k miles on it. unfortunatley, finding a manual wagon is a needle in a haystack.
