AEM V2 Install Question

I just installed the AEM V2 intake but didn't take out the air resonator box. The intake fit in perfect without any need to remove the resonator. Will this cause any problems or make a performance difference? Anybody else leave the resonator in?

Well its just dead weight, might as well take it out, it only takes like 10 minutes.

True, but it's only like five pounds, if that. I have garbage in my car that weighs more. Other than that, it will not hurt performance. The only way it would do that, is if you attached the V2 right to it.

I think it would restrict airflow somewhat by leaving in the resonator. There is a hole right under the filter where the resonator box goes that appears to suck in air from outside the engine bay. If you bought the V2 trying to maximize the power from your intake, then take out the resonator box.

It doesn't suck air outside the engine bay, it sucks it right FROM the engine bay.

The only reason I didn't take it out because it was a pain in the butt on my car. I kept breaking those plastic bolts on the fender liner--they didn't come off as easy as some of you say. Sounds like it won't hurt to leave it in though
