AEM Short Intake in the Winter?

I am new to having my car sort of modified. I was wondering if anyone have issue with their intake in the winter time? Does the filter get frozen and cause problem in your CL? Please let me know

your good man. the only problem you would have is if the filter element is completely emersed in water.

In no way, shape, or form is the shorty better then the cai in the winter or summer..... No matter how you slice it, your still sucking colder air....... I have the v2 and as soon as the cold weather started to roll around, my cl pulled harder. but to answer your question, the short ram will be fine.... like oz.one said, you need to be fully submerged for any problems... hydrolock is rare...

I have an Ingen CAI and plan on leaving it in throughout winter. It sometimes gets to be as cold as -20 degrees here and my CAI turns into a REALLYCAI, does the CAI sucking in that cold of air into my engine for long periods of time pose any problems to my car under these conditions? I asked this once before, but never really got a solid answer from anyone.
Thanks!

Don't know if you have ever been to Duluth or Lutsen, but it gets that cold there pretty often in the winter. I live in Uptown Mpls., but travel there every once in a while.
Despite being in the first Gen section, I drive an 01 CL-S. I actually met you before, I gave you the A-C-U-R-A off the back of my car.......

Well, hope the letters look good for you. I was thinking of just putting something around the cone that lets some cold air in, but not all. But who knows, I'm lazy and probably won't do shit. I would be more than happy to talk to the few 2 Gens. that are in here to see if anyone wants to get together. I'm down......One dude has a really nice white TL-S.

do not put anything over your filter element. you run the risk of it constricting air flow and colapsing the filter. your intake will be fine in any weather. except a flood. and you shouldn't drive through those anyway.
