AEM CAI trouble
AEM CAI trouble
Help needed!
Bought an AEM cai and lost the *&^% instructions when I moved. Tried to wing it but got stumped at getting the bumper off, etc. Anybody know where I can find them. AEM says they never sold a CAI for the 2.3 and can't help. I don't know what model's instructions to follow. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure about the 2.3, but for the 3.0 you don't have to take off the bumper to install the cai
AEM didn't sell one specifically for the 2.3 CL, but they did sell one for the honda accord 4cyl which fits the 2.3...

ya, you just have to remove the fender liner...it is a fairly strait forward install...i can dig out my 3.0 instuctions if ya like...i know babyloc has a cai on his 2.3 and it does not fit the same as the 3.0 though...it doesnt go down near the wheel like the 3.0 does...sorry...it looked strait forward on his though...what specifically are you stuck on ill try to help ive seen where it sits etc...
If I remember right, aem made two cai's for the accord, a longer one and a shorter one. I have the longer. The one where the tube goes down under where the airbox sits. The problem is I can't figure out how to get the plastic wheel well liner or the box next to the wheel off to fit the intake filter. I've seen 2.3's with similar intakes on this site so I'm pretty sure it can be done without serious modification. What am I missing?
you need to pull the fender liner off a little bit... pull out the black plastic resonator box... connect tube to intake manifold... the tube will go into the fender well... you need to put the filter on after connecting tube... so reach into the fender again and put on the filter tighten hose clamp and then reattach fender liner... you need to jack up the passenger front side and turn your steering wheel all the way to the right...this should give you enough room to get the fender partially off.
