looking for guidance- what aem cai slips into a '97 3.0? best place to buy one?

Keep in mind that the "P" in "21-416P" stands for "Polished". If you get red or blue or silver, the letter will change to that corresponding color.

There isn't jack on Ebay any more for AEM CAI's for 3.0's.

How do the stock AEM filters hold up? Or does everyone switch to K&N right away?

 

hell yea its worth it to buy the V2 i heard that cai is the best one out there. i heard about some tests that they did nad it way outperforms any other cai!

 

My AEM filter is still wrapped in the plastic! I put on a K&N filter, IMMEDIATELY!

 

I have the 21-416 that is in this page. I used the stock AEM Filter. How often (miles) should they be cleaned or replaced?

How much is the K&N? What model? I assume you clamp it on like the stock.

 

50K miles (personally, I'd clean it sooner than that). It may require cleaning only after 50K miles, but the fiter isn't as efficient let's say at 50K vs 25K miles.

I paid about $50 for mine. I had a local speed shop order for me, and when I picked it up, I didn't get the box (or part number).

The K&N Filter clamps on just as the AEM filter does.

Yep, me too! I heard AEM comes with K&N filters. I bought an offbrand CAI and mine came with one. . .so im sure, well u'd think AEM's would come with K&N...
