Aem Cai

OK...just got done installing my AEM Cold Air Intake and the bypass valve, but now I got a few questions...

Is it ok if I didn't cut the intake and just fit the bypass in where the 2 pieces fit together?

The top soft mount doesn't fit...Does it? I can't seem to make it align if I use it, so all I used was the lower soft mount.

Thanx ahead.

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking here b/c I have an Injen CAI, but they should be similar enough (I used AEM instructions from the FAQ). Is your CAI a 2 piece instake? Is that what you mean by "where the 2 pieces fit together"? For the "soft mounts", are you referring to the mounts to the car, or the "hose" to the throttle body??

In the meantime, check out the CAI part of the FAQ for more info too. It's for a CLS, but still should give you some useful info....

I was just curious that when installing the AEM bypassvalve...if it was necessary to cut the pipe.

I just connected the 2 pieces (2 piece CAI)...Was wondering if this was OK because it sits a little higher thus the top softmount won't fit. But it SEEMS stable.

the top softmount you have to remove the plastic hosing clip that sits on the body, that is where the mount goes in.

Yea...that was the same for the bottom one too....but I didn't cut my intake like it said to. I was just curious if it was ok that way.

no, you dont have to cut it. but if youi do, use something that spins fast so you dont chip the paint around the cut. good luck. by the way, where did you get that cai?
