short ram injen will run you about 120-130
aem cold air as low as 195 is you find a group buy check www.groupbuycenter.com

i prefer injen, i think you get what you pay for and my injen short ram i swear i got like almost 10 hp. well its personal preference and ask or put up a poll and see what people prefer injen or aem. but most people in here go with aem since its cheaper. true but i like the sound of my injen, i call it the og hum. you can hear me from down the street its like a big roar. well hope this helps. laters

my CAI for my 3.0 was $100...just go on ebay...mine add 7Hp so i think..and it was just a reg brand..no special AEM or anything...(personally i think an intake is an intake...but i DID fit the AEM bypass valve..........

filters are different.. aem uses a really good filter.. and the bypass valve is garbage.. defeats the purpose of a cold air intake.. actually i don't really agree with cold air intakes either so nm

you put an intake on the car so theres less constricted airflow.. like the stock filter.. with all its bypasses and loops and resonators... cold air is pretty long.. takes time for air to get to the throttle body.. unlike a shortram.. which i run personally when i'm not turbo.. take your intake off all together.. it'll be peak performance then try a short ram... then a cold air.. then a cold air with a bypass filter.. just gets worse and worse.. bypass opens up at Wide open Throttle.. aka WOT.. and sucks air in like a short ram anyways.. which defeats the purpose of a CAI.. and i'd rather just have straight air to the TB instead of 5 feet of Piping then air... just my personal opinion.. if you think colder air does that more for you to outweigh the advantages of a shortram.. more power to you.. kinda like buying street tires when you want to race..

could i get an intercooler and fabricate piping, connect it to the throttle body to act as forced induction??

i'll break it down for you.. AEM w/ bypass valve sucks literally.. it takes air into the closest spot.. which is the bypass valve.. at wide open throttle.. if you want a true cold air you can't use a bypass valve.. it defeats the purpose.. i personally would just get a shortram.. but thats me.. i have enough engine horse power to worry about colder air hitting my TB.. i'd rather just start buying pipes i need for an intercooler too heh.. then again i've used my fair share of aem cold airs for intercoolers on turbo cars.. cutting them up and rewelding.. heh.. so they do have their purpose

I agree with Fode.........................BUT on hot days the short ram sucks ass. My car ran like shit cuz of all the hot air it sucked up under the hood. I plan on changing back to the short ram this weekend since fall is almost here. So it all comes down to where you live and the weather conditions.

injen rd

INJEN makes a cold air intake for our car that is one piece. adventon Just look for the INJEN RD Intake. It has no bypass valve so you gots to be careful.

don't have to use a bypass valve on an aem either.. i gotta carbon fiber intake on my civic for now, works pretty well heh.. dosn't get hot in the heat like a metalic intake.. still trying to get a turbo kit together.. waiting on some random parts.. thought i was selling it now i'm keeping it..
