Add On Alarm

Add On Alarm
has any one ever thought about (or already done) an "add on alarm" on top of the OEM factory alarm??
I figure since the factory alarm is the best thing for the engine immobilizer and is also VERY hard to bypass effectively; this might be a good idea.....
The only reason im considering this is because im going to be buying an eclipse AVN Nav. unit soon and at the college where i am, there have been a lot of break into the cars here. And the theifs are smart, they break windows, crawl in and steal things and dont open the door on most of the newer cars.
heres a link to what im talking about if anyone is confused about the product i am refering to. (read the product description)

There are cheaper ways to add on to the stock alarm... back in the day there was a DIY write up on here for adding a shock sensor... but the directions could apply to adding any external sensors. If you want to add that unit, go for it, but you technically already have an alarm system, not just keyless entry. Alarm or no alarm, if a theif wants something, they'll get it.
As for an in dash navi unit, the best thing I can suggest is extra attachment points in the dash, make it harder to get out... at least this way they'll break the trim ring or something instead of making off with the whole unit.

This thread seems to explain it pretty well if thats what your looking for. I think the link with the wiring diagram isn't working anymore, so you might have to find that. I have the wiring diagram for the 97 2.2 security system but I'm not sure if thats the same for whatever version CL you have.
