ABS Plastic -vs- Urethane Bumper Lips
Ok...WingsWest makes their bumper lips out of Urethane...but they charge out the A$$ for their lips.
Does anyone know, or have any experience w/ ASB Plastic lips? Basically, Im looking at a rear lip thats ABS plastic...not Urethane. Does anyone know about ABS Plastic? Ive heard its flexable and strong...Do you think it'd fit on the bumper?? What about painting ABS plastic?
Basically im just totaly confused, dont know anything about it...should I stay away from it? (im just thinkin a rear Urethane lip isnt that nessary because the lips on the rear..not the front where more things could hit it.
Can anyone help??
Thanks! -CJ

My dad has been in the plastics business for 30 years, and has sold ABS plastic to sony, every computer company, and every major car company. Our entire interior is made of ABS plastic. It is strong, and has advantages to urethane, though I believe urethane is stronger, but costs more, because it takes more oil and shit to make. ABS for the rear should be fine, as long as you don't back into a curb going like 20-30 miles an hour.
What rear lip you lookin at pimpin?

Thanks for the info. The rear lip is the same as the WW W-type. My only concern is that Urethane is flexable...this plastic may not be so flexable...meaning it might not fit the bumper at all. Just because the WW W-type lips have to be "custom fit" but their urethane so they flex to the bumpers shape...this ABS plastic lip may not be as flexable and therefor, not bend to curve/fit the bumper....

Basically All i need to know is.....the WW Lips are Urethane...they fit on our bumper fine w/o cutting. Urethane is a little more flexable than ABS-Plastic...so Im wondering if the ABS-Plastic lip would fit fine like the urethane WW one...??
this is the lip....looks just like the WW one...just made from dif. material. So do you guys think it woudnt fit because its not urethane??

Ok......Since when do you have to cut the rear lips?! Ok..if you dont have to cut the urethane WW ones....is there any reason why you could have to cut the ABS plastic one? Basically im wondering/asking anyone whos installed a WW rear lip....how much did it not fit and what had to be done to fit it?? if its as simple as sliding the lip up or down a little on the bumper, there im pretty sure the ABS plastic one will fit also.
Im just trying to figure out if i should buy it and try it out. Its the exact same style of lip as the WW, and made for the same car...just dif. material. So what would be soooo different from the 2 that would make the ABS one not work?? Basically, if the WW urethane one can fit w/o cutting....why would the ABS plastic one be any different?? Does the rear lip have to bend in some crazy angle that no ones telling me?? therefor meaning the plastic woudnt bend like the urethane??
Basically, i dont understand why the 2 would be soo different, that one of fit and one prob woudnt fit...same lip, same car...just dif. material...
