ABS Light problem!

Hello people,,
i have 1997 acura 2.2 cl manual.

I got the abs light when the cv boot went bad..and i replaced the cv boot and wiped off the abs sensor with a cloth. The abs light still stays on even after wiping off the sensor from all the cv boot grease. Should i wash the sensor with a damp cloth and some soapy water? If not..

How can i turn that annoying abs light off? Is there a way to disconnect the abs system? I dont care about the abs system and cant afford abs sensors right about now... Please help me out!

Happy holidays!!!

It's most likely your wheel speed sensor, i've replaced 3 already. The ABS unit is under the hood by the fuse box

The ABS wheel sensor should be removed and cleaned, and the rotor on the wheel should also be cleaned. Clean rotor by stuffing rag into sensor hole and turning wheel by hand. This will fix a problem caused by dirt and grease, but wont fix a damaged or faulty sensor. Check ebay or car-part.com for a used part at a reasonable price. Wheel sensors may take a bit of searching w/ local salvage yards to locate.

good luck
