ABS light just went on!!! WTF?
We had our first snow in Montreal a few days ago, and I changed my regular summer tires (Vredestein Sportracs) to my winter tires (Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice) and ever since my ABS light has been on! Is this a pure coincidence that my light came on after I swapped my tires? I even tried to get the ABS error code by shorting the blue connector under the glove compartment with a paperclip, but I didn't get any error codes flashing.
Can anyone help? Don't feel like bringing it in to the dealer...
Thx,
MontrealCL

I don't know if you bothered reading the rest of my message, but I said that I did short the blue connector with a paperclip in order to view the error code, but I got NO error code flashing. All I got when I shorted the wire with the paperclip was the check engine line that appeared.

may be *totally* unrelated, but when i got my cl, it had no cover over one of the fuseboxes (upper left side under hood when facing car near passenger side of dash) and i drove through some standing water once which shorted a fuse and set off my abs light as well... They had to "reset" something and then replaced the missing fuse box cover and i've been fine...just throwing that in there...don't know if that has anything to do with your sitation

One time I went to get gas, i filled up and turned the car on. And the ABS light when on too. So i shut the car off and tightened the gas tank cover to 3 clicks. Put the car back on and it went away. Who knows it just might be that simple.

Did you check your brake fluid i know it sounds stupid but my brake light and my abs light came o once and thats all it was. Some times it is the stupid stuff we don't check that causes problems.

My ABS light came on after a front wheel bearing replacement....but the tool said it was the rear sensor.
go figure -
they ordered a sensor and replaced it.
Maybe it's number was up - when it's time to go......

I changed my battery last year, as well as my alternator... so I don't think there should be any problems...
I had my ABS light for 5 days while I thought of EVERYTHING that might be causing such a problem... and then I found that my heated seats weren't working --- a fuse was blown. So I changed the fuse, and the ABS light went OFF --- for about 20 seconds or so, then it re-appeared again.
Next thing I'm trying is to disconnect the battery for about 15 minutes to reset the computer, and hopefully the light was on because of the fuse.
