hi guys, this is my first post, but i have been looking around on this site for the past couple days and was considering buying a cl. I located one closeby and was wondering if you thought it was a decent deal..
its a 1999 2.3 automatic.. with 79000 miles for $6890. i chekced with the owner and the car hasnt been in any accidents and has a clean title.
i would ideally rather have either a 3.0 or a manual but this seemed like a good deal so i was just wondering what you guys think.

say no to 2.3 autos. they are worse than a 3.0

 

i learned the hard way....two trannies later my new one is dying...sad times but oh well a waranty is amazing

keep it saved in your phone book, but keep looking for either a 5spd or a 3.0 auto...

 

go five speed man youll be happier if you do that

 

if your gonna get an acura autobox glass tranny. the 3.0 glass is the way to go.
doesn't sound like a bad deal,but i would keep looking/pricing.

i was aware of the problems... but what is it that messes up the tranny?

 

i got almost 160,000 miles on original before it blew. others have blown at under 60,000.it's kinda like the lotto. i'm a 3.0 btw.....

a warranty is your friend. it's not a matter of if it's gonna blow it's when. TEST DRIVE IT.if you feel the slightest slippage,head for the hills .......

 

If you are in the kansas/missouri area i'd sell my cl at the right price.

i take pride in having one of the better looking but the worst running cl on the board

 

i picked up mine for $8400.. but mine only had 45k

autos are just plain horrible..the auto tranny on my beater is gonna go soon i think

i think the 2.3 autos aren't that great...but the 2.2 autos are nice. they are pretty reliable. obviously not as reliable as a 5 spd...but of all the autos, the 2.2 are the best autos.
