98-99 2.3 CL 5-spd

I'm seriously looking into getting this car, and my only worry is that it is underpowered. I haven't gotten to try one out yet, but the numbers sound very very dissapointing.
Pretty much what I'd like to know, is it possible to somehow put the new 3.2 Type S engine in there? It doesn't seem doable since it's a pretty noticeable size difference but yea.... just making sure
A brand new 3.2 Type S would run me.... a lot of money =) And it won't look as nice. From what I understand of the CL model line only the 2.3 and the new Type S have a manual tranny, and I am never, ever getting an auto box. That's just plain humiliating for me.
If not the V6 engine swap, then atleast.... a higher output 4, because 150 hp is pretty sad... even civics have more than that.

Eeek... no replies.... I'm sorry if I offended anyone with the might of my sheer ignorance. From looking around this site, I've come to the conclusion that the 3.2 swap is a BIG no-no
Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking for a 10 second car in this, infact, I don't intend to race it, EVER. I just want an hp number in the mid 200s to give me good passing power for getting through traffic.

the 2.3 5-spd (which i have) has more torque, and is a fine car with "enough" power but you could install a DOHC H22a and get 200 hp and keep the stock tranny, but 1st gens (stock) arent too much performance oriented so if i was looking for more power i would probably just get the 3.2-S 5 or 6 speed

buy the 2.3, and swap the JDM H22. You should be able to get just the motor and ecu for around 1500 plus install. Thats what I'm hopefully doing in the next few months.

If you plan to do this, I recommend buying a 2.3 with alot of miles. Wish i knew about this when i bought the car, but oh well. I feel like I'm kinda wasting money swapping out my 2.3 motor with only 50k on it. But that extra hp will be worth it!

The 2nd gen CL is a very good looking car, but the 1st gen is soooo fucking beautiful that they don't compare. I like the 2nd gen, but I fell in love with the 1st gen the moment I saw it. I know that it's not really a performance car, but your solution sounds good enough for me. That and a 3.2 S 5/6 spd is atleast twice, if not three times the cost of a 2.3 5 spd.
Thanks for the great advice though, this takes care of the only "problem" I saw with my new favourite car.

I got it from a place called "All Japanese" in Miami! Just the engine for that price, I got the real JDM SiR H22 ecu off of ebay and I'm gonna use my tranny!
