'98 3.0 Cl

What up fellas..

Buddy of mine just came over to show me his new ride! I was surprised that he got the 3.0...and my eyes popped when he popped the hood. It's my J30A1! ;D

I'll let him know about this site, he'll probably check in soon...treat him good, ya hear? :P

So what are the specs on this car? It's 200hp/195lb-ft, I know that. What's the weight of the car? 1/4 times?
What kind of aftermarket support is there?

Pics are here:

Welcome!

http://carpoint.msn.com/compare/choo...me1=CL&pt=used

Suspension mods can be found for the 3.0, but they're usually listed under the '94-'97 Accord V6. Engine mods can be found for the 3.0, but they're usually listed under the '98-'02 Accord V6.

You can search (here) for what ever mods you need, and I'm sure someone here has done it!

tell him welcome to the club...i dont have any specs for him because i've got a 99 2.3, so it's going to be a little different.
SOME of the aftermarket stuff he can get for his car:
AEM cold air intake (best value, and probably should be his first upgrade)
comptect headers (expensive and i've heard they're not worth the $$)
Wings West front air dam
clear corners from www.procarparts.com
universal exhausts (because no other manufacturer makes them specifically for our car)
venom 400 (some people are having mixed results)
eibach prokit and sportline lowering springs
neuspeed lowering springs
sprint lowering springs
AEM underdrive pulleys
H22 motor (if your'e really serious)
possibly CL type-S cams (haven't heard of anyone getting these yet)
CL type-S motor (if you're really insane)
and of course nitrous oxide.

senior members: please add on any upgrades that i've missed! dustbuster, rmstoico, and fastvtecl you guys are the experts

hope this helps out!

Awesome, you guys seem to have a good group of people here.

One thing we're definitely wondering about...what's the curb weight on this car?

welcome to the board. hope we can help you out with any problems you have with your car.

I have the same exact car as you (color, year, and model) and personally, I think your first mod should be an airdam from Wings West . this isn't my car pictured below, but you get the idea of what it looks like.

btw, just out of curiosity how much did you pay for it? I got mine from some old lady for 16,800 with only 32,000 miles on it (it was the premium model).

I thought that Primrose Mist was a silverish/pinkish type of a color.

The pic of ricardo's CL is blue.

You can use these pics of dajuice27's '98 CL for comparison: http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...threadid=72369

Hey New Guys

First of all I'd like to say welcome, feel free to ask as many questions as you want (no matter how dumb), as newbies you are entitled to it
AS for the color, I have that same blue/green paint job and yes it is Cardiff Blue/Green Pearl . If you don't belive us check Acura.com and build your own. That should be one of the paint options, then see if the colors match up.
Congrats on your new wheels! Enjoy. . .

No no no no! You all are wrong on the colors. His color is ICED TEAL PEARL. Cardiff Blue-Green Pearl replaced Cypress green pearl (dustbuster's) in 98. Cardiff is a little less green, more blue version of cypress. As dustbuster said, primrose is the silver/pink color. Since I bought my car new, i have the original dealer brochure (mine is cardiff by the way) and i am looking at the color section now. Gosh, and you call yourselves Acura owners! :P Get your colors straight!

Oh and welcome ricardo and joejoe! You will love it here. BTW wtf is that thingy on your rear window? And is that guy in the pic ricardo or joejoe? My friend thinks he is hot (no not my gf, but she is a girl).

At first i thought it was an antenna for a car phone, but the design is really odd. Whatever it is, TAKE IT OFF!

Didn't we just establish that the color is "Iced teal pearl?"

i think it was once used for a car phone. Im kinda afraid to take it off, it seems like they drilled through the glass for it.
