You can get 6000k on ebay for like $450. Im not sure about 8000k but i would think you would draw a lot of attention to yourself w/them (bad attn like cops but thats just me)

i still dont understand the facsination with spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars to have very bright headlights that dont even help in the rain. can someone explain why people arent putting this money into the engine r the body?

my only thought is that people think their car will look like an audi or a bimmer (yes, that is how it is spelled) coming down the road. but that is not the case because those are HID projector lights and they look totally different. i guess they realize that after they spend $500 on head light bulbs. i dont know.

I don't know about the higher K value HID kit but mine which is a 5000k kit and it helps me avoid alot of things on the road. Even in rain too, though the theory is that the higher the K value, the worst it would be in rain/fog. But you have to remember they produce ALOT more light output which I think its alot better than the stock bulbs or any bulbs that I've tried before getting this HID kit. I would highly recommend getting one install.
However, I would not recommend the higher K value ones because they do attract cops. Get something in the range 4000k to 6000k which gives you the look of the 2nd gen CL HID.

I had PIAA Super Plasma bulb before for my high and low beam. They look purplish. They should match pretty good with 6000k purplish HID.
However, there aren't any good match for the small wedge bulbs.
I've seen one made by PolarG that produce a really purple color which is something you probably don't want to have.

Hope this help!

PIAA makes Japanese Spec bulbs that are 5000K. Not a conversion, just the bulb. They come in two colors, HID purple or Extreme white. The purple is what looks closest to the HID in the BMWs and they are bright as fuck. Retail at $180, I sell them at $140 / pair with a limited lifetime warrenty. Great value, if you dont want to fork up 400-800 bucks for a HID kit that looks the same. You cant buy these bulbs anywhere else, unless you have a direct Japanese based source, they are not US spec DOT approved, only JAP Spec approved. Too bright, I suppose.
