60 k maintenance

60 k maintenance

alright so i just passed up 60k on my odometer so im going to do the scheduled maintenance including the timing belt and water pump. i was just wondering if i should just buy the belt or the entire kit to replace it?

timing belt @ 60k? that seems really low i've never had a car had one changed before 100k or so.... and lowmiles? pshh mines got 45k =P

.....almost.

Depends on how bad your belt is though. You'll probably be fine.

i got the car last year in may with 45k. it was owned with a elderly lady in florida with obviously never drove it. in the owners manual it says at 60k.. i've never owned a car with this low of mileage so i just wanted keep it maintained so fuck myself over later..

Just to aid your decision...I have 99.5k on my '99, the chick before me never got the 60k maintenance check. The price for the maint. is 800$ if done at a dealer, so if anyway possible, do it yourself.

In this case the timing belt is not going to go from wear, but from old age possibly. Bought mine with 64k not even a month ago and I did it and the water pump etc all as a precaution.
