3.0L Engine Noise

Has anyone had a problem with their engine making noises? My engine is making a whining noise. Its not the intake, that makes a vaccuum sucking sound... dunno any suggestions?
I'm taking the car in next week to get it checked, but I was hoping someone else could tell me what the problem might be.

check the pcv valve. mine humms. accually i dont think its the valve it could be the hose being blocked. just slightly pull on the hose coming from the pcv valve and if the tone changes try and troubleshoot from there. im sure thats what it is

That mysterious humming sound in the engine bay is a worn out bearing between the alternator and the air-conditioning. The good news is the alternator will be replaced by warranty but the bearing might not be. The bearing is not listed as a major component so i might have to pay for it. The bearing is approx $70.00 cdn but the service manager is gonna try to pull strings and include the bearing with the alternator warranty, hope he can pull it off. I'm getting it done on thursday i post the outcome.

This is the last year for the 1999 CL warranty I bought mine in september so im still covered. The rear view mirror was a christmas present. I think it came from one of those auto accessory stores but i'm not sure Thanx for the compliment.
