3.0CL vs '06 Civic EX Sedan

Not planning to race, but since I have both in the family, just wondering. Which one would win in a race? Civic is auto btw. I've driven both and the CL feels faster, but I really haven't had much of a chance to mess around with the Civic.

On an unrelated note, no badges or front plate for me anymore. Hope cops in WA don't care about plates.

CL... No doubt... Civics are slow as molasses unless modded.

they sure do. They got me for no front plate twice in bothell, and the state trooper got me for my tinted liscense plate cover, but didnt say anything about my completely black taillights

not even worth it, since your insurance would skyrocket.

no shit? I figured with them having the same peak power as a 3.0, but weighing less they'd win for sure. Maybe their power band is just smaller than the 3.0's

The gear ratios played a big role, I noticed that he shifted sooner than my car (in D3, rode it all the way up to ~6000RPM)...

Idk what the Si has but i could only visually see the exhaust.

I just have a CAI as power mod...

the new civic's would give 2.x a run for their money, but 3.0's would beat it..........but not an Si. you probably beat an EX.
it has already been proven h22>j30................ so k20>h22>j30

Si would eat up a 3.0, I've had a little run with a boosted Si sedan and that mofo pulled hard as hell.

The 1999-2001 SIR coupe was nice, not to be confused with the hatchback. Every gen before or after that

I've always proven j30>h22 CL....we have a few threads about the H22 CL's I've raced out in socal from 3 years back

It's always been j30>h22 untill someone else proves otherwise...

no need to hate on the new civics there no joke. they come with really nice options. i drive new civics everyday at work

like azntl said the new civic would give a 2.x a run for it money.

ive drivin numerous 07 si's and a dozen 3.0's and IMO the Si would take it

but a 3.0 would smoke a base civic.

true, but so would any smaller coupe from honda of the past. Our cars are big, handle like a boat (stock) and are a bit too heavy for the f22 to pull around. the difference in hp is like, what 5 hp? base civics are 140hp i think. Aside from being relatively "fast" like the SI, civics dont appeal to me at all, i wudnt be caught dead in one

must have been an auto base 115 hp one. I'm certain that a 5pd SI can go with a 2.x 5pd. I wouldnt be sure i can beat one, considering its much newer than my 97 cl.

the 99 si would take your 2.2 especially automatic. my friend has one, and he pulls on me, but i can stick with him pretty good. And even the 92-95 ex sohc vtecs arent bad either my other friend has one, and becasue the car is so light, they are pretty quick, couldnt beat me, but sticks with me easily

95+ ex sohc's are REALLY slow, my friend just bought one.....he was behind me and my friend with the avenger was next to me, we went from a 35roll and that civic was about 4 cars back when the race was done........

but yeah theres no way i can keep up with any Si.

I got pulled over for not having a front license plate, but i had it in my front window, and he just told me to put it back on the front but I never did LOL. But that was a LONG time ago. So i dont think cops in WA really look for that kinda stuff!
