Hey guys, my tranny is out. Should I get a used one or get it rebuilt? I'm debating on what to do about it. Thanks in advance fellas.

Get it rebuilt, it'll have a warranty, and if you get a used one, it'll probably just go again. Rebuilt tranny w/ warranty is the way to go

big chains aren't the best idea. check bbb.com and read the facts. mine had about 10 complaints this year, for misc problems. i went with a local shop my mechanic reccomended me, which had an amazingly clean record of zero complaints since 1988. i paid $2800, but i brought $2500 cash and he accepted it. i got a full rebuild with an 18 month warranty. shop around, research, it will always pay off, even if you cant drive for like a few days.

Replace all the gears, clutch pack, and have them test the torque convertor, all the sensors, and all the solenoids.
Oh, and ONLY let them refill the tranny after rebuild with Honda ATF tranny fluid

Thanks 97BlaclAckCl. I'll make sure all thats done for the rebuild. I really hope it drives like new once it gets rebuilt. Does it drive the same after the rebuild or is it better or worse? I know that I'm changing the fluid every 15k miles for now on.
