24kt Gold Kit/Leather Shifter

[I realize that this should be in the "Black Market", but there is so little traffic in there.]

Here's a 24kt Gold Emblem kit. It's for the 3.0, but everything will fit the 2.2/2.3. Looks like the front (or rear) "A" is not included as there should be 2 "A"s (unless this was the '97 model in which the front "A" would also had wings). Better ask the seller if its the front or rear "A".

Someone was asking about one!

Also, here's a Leather shifter from Warner. I just installed mine yesterday!

Is Gold still in these dayz? It seems like today it's all about Platinum or silver. Plus I think it would be hard to make a car with silver or chrome rims to look good with gold emblems.
No I'm not talking shit, just thoughts

No offense taken!

I love the gold on my Car!

For me, it's not about "being in", it's about personal taste and being somewhat unique. I've never "been with the times", and don't rely on what's "in". I just do what appeals to me.

IMO, the front of our car has too much chrome when you take into consideration the headlight housings, OEM fog lights, and the clear bumper lights that I've added.

I tried to cut down on the "chrome look" by adding the gold "A" and wings, and the gold ring around the grill. I admit the gold trim ring may be too much, but I'd rather have that than another chrome piece in the front. The license plate frame IS too much, and I'm looking for something that's a little less obnoxious.

I think the gold on the rear of the car looks fantastic! I'm not changing anything back there.

As far as matching rims with the gold, Acura makes OEM center caps for the '97 wheels that have gold "A"s on them. I thought about getting them, but decided against them as I'll be getting 18" rims and tires this spring. Since there's only "gold" on the front and rear of my CL, I don't think it will clash with chrome or silver rims when your looking at the sides of the car.

I remember some days ago, that someone was looking for the gold emblems, hence the reason I posted this.

BTW, for those with an automatic, the leather shifter "feels" fantastic! It's sooooooo much nicer to grip on leather than that damn hard OEM plastic!

Glad you didnt take offense Dust. I actually think the back of your car looks great and the front isnt bad at all minus the plate. The gold on green really isnt too bad. Now gold on red...well thats a different story

Someone bought a shifter knob that I was "watching" on Ebay last Sun. Mines sort of rough. I'll try for this one.

How hard was it replacing the shifter knob?

Thanks

I won mine 2 Sundays ago on eBay!

Replacing the shifter knob took a grand total of 3 minutes (literally)! Simply unscrew the 2 screws on each side of the handle, take out the thumb "plunger" and spring from the plastic one, put them in the leather shifter, and replace the screws! Very easy!

The gold is a matter of personal taste and I am glad someone pointed out the fact that Green and Gold does look good, that's why I am going gold this weekend. I've seen some Red and White CL's with gold and I wasn't impressed. Green and Gold always looked good to me, so I am hooking myself up.

As for the shifter knob, I got a freebie after spending mucho dinero with Warner for some replacement Acura parts - so I'll let you guys know what I think of my leather shifter knob.

I have a Leather Knob for auto's available... it has a little wear, but it still looks brand new. Its on my "stuff for sale" page. Make me an offer if you dont feel like waiting for the auction.
I also have the "rubber" knob that came on my 97 if anyone wants that either.

Does Acura make a leather shifter for the Manual Tranny?

I guess the only little thing that bummed me out about the CL was the cheap factory plastic non standard piece of s#!t shifter knob that comes with the car. I mean it doesn't even match the leather interior of the car.

If anyone knows where to find a leather one, I would be thankful.

Oh well small complaint.

I was wondering the same thing. Im pretty sure when we got the car the dealer said that there was a leather one. I would really like a burlwood one but i havent found one yet and I would settle for a leather one. Any ideas anyone?

I've called a few Acura dealers and they tell me thaere is no Acura burlwood shifter for the 98 cl 2.3l Man. There is a black leather one with prices rangeing for $34.00-$76.00, (I guess some delaers are out to screw us!)

I ordered a leather shift knob from
1-800-888-1036 ask for Mike Marlatt. for $34.00 plus $.50 shipping.

BTW: He gave me a good deal on rear mud guards for my 98 CL. ($31.00) + $8.50 shipping.
