225/45/17??? Good tire size?

Just wondering if these tires will rub? I would like to go 2 sizes wider, but I don't want them to rub.

I have 225 (18s), and no rubbing (even with my Pro-Kit).

Just realize that your diameter is now greater than stock. So your speedometer will be off by a bit.

As long as your not superlowered you will not have problems with that size of tire. It's a huge tire though... 225/45. I'm on 215/40/17's and they are just rubberbands on rims, so try to find something in between. I had massive rubbing w/ 225/45, but than again, i have 2 inch clearance on my exhaust piping :\

I use 215/45 and that is the same diameter as stock. Decent profile, not like rubber bands, but with Atlanta potholes, maybe I should have made them meatier. But, if you look at the rear, the control arm sits pretty close to the tire, not much room there.

i just got prokits and some koni yellows on the way, but i was thinkin of gettin the 225/45s also over the 215/45s to suck up some more wheel gap. i think i should just stick with 215/45s when i get my rims. i dont care if 225/45s will work. the ? is what would u guys buy? i havent lowered my car yet so i have no experience cept that stock suspension gots to go.

This arm is what I am worried about.

According to this website, it says that a 225/45/17 is less different from the stock tire than a 215/45/17.
