2.7 L stroker kit

So i went in to the local performance shop and he said that he could increase displacement to 2.7 L from my 2.3 L. Not sure how much but he also said he could get me a good racing cam. Anyone know any other cams for a 2.3?

Find out about how much power you'll gain from uping the liters.
Gude is the only cam i know of, but there might be more.

that doesnt sound right. 2.4 is the seems to be the max before you start runnin into probs, from what other ppl have posted. 2.5 has been done also. maybe for a race engine that only needs to get down the track one or twice. for a daily driver i dont think that will work. somethin bout the cylinder walls being too thin. some1 with real knowledge will comment hopefully. this is just what i have read. doent mean its true.

it'd be pointless to stroke a f series. just my opinion though.

who in the world would want to stroke our SOHC motors.

there is a guy that bored and stroked his H22 to a 2.66 (i think), but i imagine that was lots of work.

not hard work at all, stroking and boring are actually quite simple

im just trying to imagine how the cylinder walls look on an H22 that has been bored out that far. paper thin maybe?

what did your buddy de-stroke his H22 to... what components?

Stroke to a 2.7?? Absolutly not. Sure you would be able to stroke it just fine, but the bore required for that would be way too big for a 2.3 block. Your block would explode under the pressure on the new thinner walls. It would do this under the normal HP of a 2.3, let alone the power you add (maybe 40-50 TOPS) from this job. Not worth the money, the work, the risk, or the hp. Get an H22A for 3500 bucks dropped in with a little left over.
