2.3cl vs 3.0cl engines?
How good are the 2.3cl engines are they just as good as a 3.0cl?
I maybe interested in a 2.3 but some talk here say lack of power they rather own a 3.0 liter.
I drive an 90 exr accord 130 hsp 4 cylinder its a bit torquey but ride is good. The 2.3 acura vtec is 150 hsp lot more then my car.
Question being is can I be happy with a 2.3 or should I look at a 3.0 come hell or high prices?

Well, you gotta ask yourself this....
Do I want to build a fast car?
or
Do I want to keep my car stock?
If your looking to build a faster car, go with the 2.3 and then do the H22 swap and go from there. Or just get the 3.0 if you want a lil more power but looking to stay stock. (you can always make the 3.0 faster as well, but then you gotta worry bout your tranny) But hey, which ever you choose, you'll be happy with. They're great cars, especially when driven by mature adults, hehe.
One thing you gotta do though, when you get either or, is DROP IT !!!

A-CL Post Whore w/N2O
I think if the 3.0 came with a 5 or 6-speed, almost everyone here would own one.
But, since that's not the case, I guess it comes down to whether you want a 5-speed or the 6-cylinder.
Personally, I don't miss the 5-speed too much (all the damn traffic around here), because the 195 ft-lbs of torque help me forget that I'm driving an auto. Occasionally, I'm bothered by the lack of 5-speed in my car when racing. But I just turn on the nitrous, and smile!
Don't get me wrong: If the 3.0CL came with a manual tranny, I would pick that in a heartbeat!

lol this is the first time I've heard of a 130hp 4cylinder being reffered to as "torquey" lol
I personally own a 3.0l accord.. love it. The 5 speed 2.3l is nice for race.. but I prefer the smoother acceleration that you can get from a v6.
In your case.. the 4cyl would be fine since youre moving up from an older 4 cyl accord. My last vahicle was a 1994 honda passport.. Im used to the bigger motor.. I drove integra gsr's, 4cyl accords.. it just feels different. -Jai

who got the best deal?
i personally cant go back to AUTO, its just soo damn boring, there is nothing better than a 5-speed for "spirited" driving i try to the same things in my dads 02 accord i do in my CL and it just laggs doesnt take the corners with the same force. you wont know until you drive it.

If you're looking for a fast car...You're looking at the wrong car. :-P
Buy a CL for luxury or looks. Search else where for speed.
But then again, you said a 130hp engine was torquey...so I dunno.

You should go with the 3.0, I love mine, and my cousins who all own cars with stick-shift I-4's rave about my car. Also if you really want a manual tranny you could always swap a manual tranny on to the 3.0

Here is what I have learned. I have a 3.0. its fast, it responds well to bolt on, and it looks so phat. Down side you have to put in the money to really make it super fast.
