I did a comparison in the autorader site and it's saying that 99 2.3 has 153 and the 3.0 has 150...does this make any sense??

I know what you mean, I've driven manual all of my life, except for now.
That's about the only thing I have to complain about our 3.0's, other than that
the car responds with more than enough umph.

BTW - If a guy/girl beats you in a race, does it matter if it was auto or stick?

That is awsome...... And think, if a 3.0 had a manual, fuck... the 2.x wouldn't stand a chance. And, arent drag racers a form of auto transmission... I know it has something to do with lock-up clutches. But it still aint a manual...

Really, not offering a manual transmission is just retarted. The lexus IS 300 at first did not offer a Manual option, then a few years later they did. They should have a 1999 Acura Cl 3.0 5 speed. Imagine how many v6 coupe accords they wouldve sold if they mathed the J30 to a manual. Annnnnoying!!

exactly...and its not our fault that the DIDNT make it in a manual either. Now, if 97-99 V6 3.0 had a manual version, THEN and ONLY THEN could you make fun of us if we still drove auto.

Besides, two things...

1.) although having a maunal would be hella fun to drive, sometimes i'd just be too much for me i think, while im playin w/ the tv/radio/cds, smokin a cig and talkin on the phone....and to think...when your drivin around and night and your girls felling a little frisky, an arousing game of "headlight sex" can turn into much much more, and with her head in the way, you coudnt shift...

and 2.) Why fight over whats better, a 3.0 or a 2.x...either car wasnt made to go fast, and even if a 3.0 can beat a 2.x....my friends Jeep Overland kicks my ass all the time....its just a fact we all have to live with...

i might get an odyseuy engine soon for like a gran cuz my friends dad repossed one. its a 3.5 vtec. and i might just get crazy and hook up an h22 tranny to it. that'll be sick. still undecided tho. auto is for pussies. lol but they do spank the 2's.

btw: it wont work....you know how many 5 speed 3.0's they'd be if it worked. H22 trannies can be found for cheap! If you want a 6 speed with LSD hooked up to your J35, then your looking at about 4 grand if Aidan lives near you. But he doesnt, so you can pay for his flight and hotel likes others have, and then it can be done. Unless you want a shop to do it, and let them deal with the trial and errors.

 

What do you have anyways? A 3.0 or the 2.2/2.3 ? If you have the 3.0, and going with the J35 block, keep your J30A1 heads on there.

 

They are all Acuras, but to get spanked by a Jeep, that motha better have a V8.

 

Meh, I think the arguement is that some people would would rather have a little more fun while driving daily than have a slightly better launch time at drag.....Not a matter of which is faster, it's a matter of which is more fun. I haven't owned an auto yet, I drive an auto F150 at work, so I get enough of that.
