between the s/c 3.0 cl and the turbo 2.2 cl wich one is better(meaning lasting longer, faster ect.)? i know that there is a s/c 3.0 and a turbo charged 2.2 as most of you know the 2.2 has 253 whp and torque i dont know if the s/c 3.0 is producing such power. right now i have a 3.0 cl and was going to do a swap to a 2.2 and get a f max turbo kit the pricing between the s/c and the turbo is about the same but i know the turbo has a bigger power difference the stock 2.2 has about 140 whp and the turbo charged one has 253whp with the set up he has. so basically all i want is some of your point of view's on if i should get the 2.2 swap and turbo or just get the s/c.

oh and one more thing what's the weight difference between the two stock that is. 3.0 and 2.2

3219 lbs for the 3.0 and 3007 lbs (approx) for the 2.2.

If the 2.2 turbo is a 5-speed, then I would definitely say go with the 2.2. The SC 3.0's auto tranny is it's weak point.

Power output maybe similar, but in theory, the 5-speed will be quicker (and last longer).

wait....are you talking about swapping the engine or the car? because you wouldn't want to swap the engine - the engine bay is completely different and you'd have to rewire practically everything. if i were you, i'd buy a 2.3 CL and then FMAX that son of a beautiful car.

ummm yeah, just dont switch engines- thats a waste of money. You would have to change everything - then on top of that buy a turbo. If you want a 4cyl turbo then I would just buy a new car.

yeah thanks for the advice i think i will be selling my 3.0 and getting 2.2 stick and with the money i have already put into the car i hopefuly be able to get a f max turbo.

3.0 is gonna be more unreliable, but I would think it would put down more power both highend and lowend. Might as well turbo it.

The more displacement 3.0 will have more power than the 2.2.

That tranny will eat up more of it, but definately will not last from what I've heard the 3.0 owner complaining about.

i was tryign to think what the cl with th 253 whp run's and i came up with about a 12.9 to a 13.1 that's a huge jump from a 16.7 to a 13.1 with a turbo and bolt on's
