i have a 98 2.3 cl and just ordered a cai but for some reason the tube rests on top of the battery. i checked teh box to see if i ordered the right one, but it said that it was for a 97 2.2 cl. are the engine bays set up the same? should it be able to fit? i want to make sure before i file a claim against the people that sent it to me on ebay.

 

yes, they are the same. Wiggle the tube around a bit, try to align it with the throttle body and it should fit. I had that same problem with my short ram.

i had this same EXACT problem, i ordered it for a 2.2/2.3 CL and the tube is too short (filter side of tube rests directly over the battery), i then ordered one for a 94-02 4cyl accord and it fit fine. someone seems to have a bad template for the 2.x CL out there...

positive. the thing that sticks out for that rubber tube to go into the engine is on the same side with the throttle body.

but ill try wiggling it around one more time, and if not, i guess ill just either send it back or sell it to someone else.... if only i knew what car it was really for.

 

Try flipping it.

 

2.2 and 2.3 are different motors

The 2.3 is a 98-02 accord motor, maybe they don't line up right

 

im a 2.3 and using a 94-97 intake, its the same as the 98-02 intake. the box it came in says 94-02. the intake he's talking about looks just about right, but the straight long part of the sri just isnt long enough.

just send it back and get your money (and shipping costs if you had it shipped), then order an accord intake and thats that.

 

yeah turns out i cant get my money back. it was an individual seller....
probably with tthe same problem as me. ill just have to sell it to someone else out there.
